我的祖母是广东人,所以全家在90年代移民美国。我们当时住在波士顿唐人街一间没有暖气的房子里。我们家和我姑妈家六口人挤在一个老鼠,蟑螂成灾的2-bedroom apartment里。我的父母的许多朋友也是新移民,他们不会英文,很多在国内也没上过大学,生活在社会的底层。那是一段我人生不愿意回首的日子。后来,为了报答我父母对我做的巨大牺牲,我发奋读书,后来靠奖学金,助学金顺利地完成了学业,而且我整个大学期间没有向我父母要一分钱。我记得我上高中时,有一次我在Filene Basement看到了一件25美元的蓝色的jacket,非常想要。妈妈足足犹豫了好几分钟才跟我买。后来那件衣服我在Boston穿了5个冬天,直到我后来自己挣钱买了一件外套。现在,我回想那段日子都觉得恍然梦中。

。里面各色各样的extra curricular可能会有些启发。里面还有种族信息。可以看到条
件差一点的被录取的几乎都是少数民族。
不过喜欢泡那个论坛的nerds居多,信息也不是非常全面,做个参考就好。

其次,多才多艺,学校各种活动露脸,参加外面的演出,运动场上风头也健,也是有各

因素里也有可能
再有,如果一直成绩好、拿奖学金、得各种奖励,将来本科毕业了直研或者申请出国什
么的也是很大的加分因素。很多人一进校就瞄着直研、出国
这几项加起来,如果你身边有这么一个人物,而你的目标本来是拿奖学金、在学校里出

正经的就是赶紧申请CPT。这个没有时间限制,想干多久就多久。以前那个C,就是
Curricular比较难做实,但现在Internet penetration那么高,你就是蓝翔,也能搞个
在线厨艺展示或者在线挖掘机实用技术交流。只要CPT下来,以往的工作事实,也就
是稍微过点界,就算理会起来,最多罚点款。
但其实这种事儿吧,谁管?当然,报税还是要报的,人非移还得报税呢(不报下次大赦
没你份儿!),IRS是管税的,不执行移民法。别自个儿吓自个儿了。 |

心情很郁闷!!!
我是清华xx工程系本科毕业的。在这边拿到的master。 前不久接到一个conditional 工
作offer,说是如果清华的本科学位能够通过ECEI(Engineering Credential Evaluation
International)的评估,就可以拿到这个工作。
于是花了大把银子去做评估,因为根本没觉得有不过的可能性。
结果:Based on the criteria in effect at the time the program was completed,
the degree awarded to xxx does not meet the curricular requirements of the
