to more non-native speakers.
Even though most people, including non-Chinese speakers, admit that Chinese
is a dense language (i.e. it conveys a larger quantity of information over

Higher precision implies more rigorous thinking
and is actually better English.
This is especially true in business and law and
particularly in patent law.
But I agree that for ordinary people it is not
necessary and in sales and marketing, even bad
or harmful.
e.g. "had an accident" is more common than
"suffered an accident" but the latter is more
precise and may be better, because it conveys
that the event was a suffering for Lufthansa
as well, not just those killed. |
