谈一谈几个熟悉的会议，请大家补充。Computer Graphics 中最鼎鼎大名的就是SIGGRA
PH了。其会议全称是：International Conference on Computer Graphics and Intera
ctive Techniques. SIGGRAPH是ACM SIG之一。SIGGRAPH是一个盛会式的会议。除了Pap
er,还有很大规模的展览。98年 SIGGRAPH的与会者人数达到了创纪录的 48700。现在维
持在30000上下。SIGGRAPH paper的接受率大约接近20%. 而实际上递交到SIGRRAPH的文
章质量都很高，其录取难度要比接受率接近的其他会议高得多。
其他Computer Graphics 的会议和SIGGRAPH就至少差了一个档次。SIGGRAPH下来是 Eur
ographics. 虽然是欧洲的会议，但也是面向世界。接受率现在也有差不多20%.但是每次
会议参加人数就少的多，就是5-600。还有不错的 |

GT 分数一般
２００６年来美国，在中部一个一般的学校读了硕士，比较拼命，所以ＧＰＡ达到３．９
做过４－５个project，主要方向computer vision，尤其对human motion analysis 感
兴趣，有２篇IEEE conference, 1篇 Computer Vision and Image Understanding 的
journal (under review), 手头还有一篇正要提交到Computer Vision and Image
Understanding 的journal。同时有两年TA的经验
我希望申请top40的PhD，有些学校把computer vision 放在 CS，有些放在ECE。具体而
言，本人很喜欢Brown, Northwestern, NYU 和Georgia Tech. 请大家给小弟评估一下

我和fall 在computer vision 上看法类似，自动驾驶可能利用上computer vision 一
些处理 但不是一回事。如果你的命题改成完全靠computer vision 来做自动驾驶，那
么我同意现在技术还不成熟也可能实际死路一条。
但纯靠computer vision 只是多少年前的小小学术课题，不能当是现在的主流方案。
来。但是解决这个问题离自动驾驶太远了。我说的自动驾驶是指完全不需要人干预的那

不过都还给老师了。基础课也学了模数电，信号和系统这些，就是有些年头了，后来
PhD也没用过，什么都剩个很浅的印象了。
想在Stevens Institute of Technology修2门口，再看读什么方向。学校的CS MS
program有好几个方向（Computer Science，Cybersecurity，Enterprise Computing，
Enterprise Security & Risk Management，Game Design & Simulation Programming
，Multimedia Management & Experience，Service Oriented Computing），还有
computer engineering，networked informaiton systems 的MS program。
请教：从好找工作来考虑，哪个program/方向比较好？这个学校出来的好找工作吗？我

Computer Science is different from Computer Engineering.
Computer Engineering is more related to hardware, such
as computer architecture/VLSI/EDA.
Some school has CE program in EE, such as Princeton's CE
is actually in EE, CMU's ECE, Berkeley's ECE. Some school
has CE program in CS department, such as UW's CSE, Penn State
CSE.
US News does not have a new ranking for CS. Below is the
ranking in 2002. Which can explain the questions about

发帖数: 94 | 48 一个计算机系的教授推荐我去做computational biology，说既懂生物又懂计算机的人很
少，这方面的job opening很多。
具有讽刺意味的是四年前我拿到了USC的molecular and computational biology的offe
r没去，来做bench work。认为那才算做生物研究。不过现在发现做实验对动手操作和经
验的要求太高，对逻辑思维的要求不那么高，很没意思。
现在已经决心学computer science，不知道computational biology的前景如何，job m
arket 如何。我个人感觉是基本只能当教授搞研究，工业界基本没有职位。原来读生物
的PhD的时候是一心想当faculty的，不过被折磨了这么多年以后真的有点怕了，不知道
自己是不是适合做faculty。

小弟本科国内一个烂校毕业，ＧＰＡ：３．５／４．０
GT 分数一般
２００６年来美国，在中部一个一般的学校读了硕士，比较拼命，所以ＧＰＡ达到３．９
做过４－５个project，主要方向computer vision，尤其对human motion analysis 感
兴趣，有２篇IEEE conference, 1篇 Computer Vision and Image Understanding 的
journal (under review), 手头还有一篇正要提交到Computer Vision and Image
Understanding 的journal。同时有两年TA的经验
我希望申请top40的PhD，有些学校把computer vision 放在 CS，有些放在ECE。具体而
言，本人很喜欢Brown, Northwestern, NYU 和Georgia Tech. 请大家给小弟评估一下
，是不是有些好高骛远了，谢谢各位！
另外我本人在硕士阶段是在ECE, 如果申请CS的话会不会有些困难？ |
