right of survivorship 跟 community property类似，主要区别就是夫妻之间房产权
转移的时候不用再花钱办手续，方便很多。需要声明这个选项，不然escrow做文件的时
候很可能想当然写成community property。 |

说话没口音的，看来都是H1的出身。

招人招了几个月，终于搞定了，发篇感想吧。咱们老中的communication还是差点啊。
三个老中都因为这个被我的
老板给拒了，就因为communication。偶奋力干掉了两个老印，不过他们的
communication真的是好。最后招了
个来美国２０年的台湾人，也算是肥水不流外人田吧。
建议还在学校的XDJM们去选点文科的课，像什么history,social science, political
science，literature之类的狗屁
东西，最好是要写１０篇８篇term paper才能拿学分的。关键不在口音，口音也无解
。关键在把自己的思想有条
理地表达清楚。有一个来interview的老中，口音也不太重，但是每个句子不超过８个
单词，得要white board才
能讲明白很简单的一个东西。难免给人一种缺乏 |

是自由和生命。
2. 都具有很强的排他性，不允许“外人”的自由参与。比方说Apple的封闭构架。再比
方说进Apple Inc工作就像进共产党，首先要成为该公司产品的忠实用户，以示效忠。
3. 都有个人崇拜的特征。Communism是崇拜Stalin, Mao之类的人，Apple是崇拜Steve
Jobs。领袖去世的时候追随者都有不理智的疯狂的表现，仿佛领袖就是神明。

加拿大签证。
学校要求我在修正式的master课程之前补修3门课。琢磨在这里的community college修
。I-20已经到手，所以情况变得比较复杂。问了本地的2所community college，明确了
f2是不能修有credit的课程的，所以只能把身份转过来修。但是问题是我到底拿哪家的
I20转身份呢？
两种假设：
1- 拿原学校的i-20转身份，转完后马上transfer 到community college修完spring
quarter，然后秋季再transfer回去，不知道原学校还要重新申请不？还没读书就转了
，这样可行不？
2- 拿community college 的I-20转身份，补课，同时把原学校的admission defer
到2010 fall? 同时还要要问问学校是否承认偶修的credit. 但是签证也许会有风险，
因为我要补休的课程是undergraduate level的。有本科毕业证的人去读本科学位，在
签证官那里会不 |

Nat Commun不只是要捡漏那些Nature 和Nature research journal 被拒掉的paper, 而
且还要cover其他小学科，这样它的定位很难琢磨。 Nat Methods刚开始的时候影响因
子才3点儿几，后来还不是20了。你看吧，不出5年，Nat Commun的影响因子肯定15-20

哪个好呢？ 有的时候，明明能发full paper, 老板确改为communications. 我觉得
full paper会更好一点，因为自己做的是一个完整的project. 可老板确偏好
communications. 老板肯定有他的道理，这是为什么呢？不过找工业界的工作，因为
communications 和 full paper 在简历上不会显示出来，所以应该没有太大影响，是

前些天在学校的career center听了一个关于seeking faculty positions in
community colleges的讲座。 我understand这种地方value teaching, research他们
不看重。
当时有个高年级的中国人问没有绿卡可不可以申这样的职位，她的回答是you must
have an "authorization to
work" to be eligible for employment.
Once you complete your degree, I
believe you would need to apply for a
working visa with the U.S. Immigration
Services. Unfortunately
community colleges generally do not

年，拿到tenure-track 的AP offer了。 我觉得你的背景，完全没有必要去community
college，主要是community college是open enrollment，学生差的一塌糊涂，你可以
想象有多差就有多差，得教最基本的乘除法了。我觉得，你申请的学校排名太靠前了吧
，不如试试小型liberal art，很多这样的学校，teaching会少一些的。Research全凭

因为这个学校完全没research 不知道会不会有影响

另外还有一个机会adjunct三个月
但是adjunct的学校是个普通大学
是不停的续adjunct还是去community college当个instructor

利于找工作的课程。具体情况如下：
系里要求这2周选课，必须要选一门core course，一个是fundamentals of wireless
communication,一个是physics of semiconductor devices.
我以前有semiconductor的背景，所以类似的课程都修过，再修一次有点浪费，而且再
考虑到半导体这块工作现在也不好找，打算选wireless communication,比较偏软一点
，但是貌似大家都说通信这块也死了。
挺发愁的，因为有可能下学期要自己掏学费，所以想尽可能的选择对找工作有帮助的。
我在现在的学校搞的学的都有点偏软，但是还是和wireless communication一点不沾，
可能就matlab code/C++能用到一点。
