1. bioinformatics， 比较专门的领域。
2. R&D pre-clinical 数据， manufacturing and control数据。这个，是不是工作中
要花很多时间了解许多本公司R&D process里或者manufacturing process的一些东西，
这些东西，基本和统计无关，换了公司背景也就没什么用，属于比较耽误工夫的？
另外这类的，是不是会经常用一些主流方法以外的方法（比如deming regression for
method comparison，计算tolerance interval什么的）， 但是实质上所用的统计方法
都很简单基本？

Clinical trial 决定公司的成败，背后有很多的钱，尤其是药，margin 很高，统计师
是决定成败的关键，所以收入很高。
Clinical biostatistician 主要负责搞定FDA，FDA 管的越严，数学就越保守。你一个
复杂的Bayesian model 比不上简简单单的randomized trial 更容易通过。这行是FDA
的经验值钱。要求phd 是因为fda Prefer. 在前沿跟FDA 打交道的统计师一般要博士三
十年经验。只要搞得定FDA, 不管要多少钱公司都会给的。
银行我不懂，data scientists 我面了不少。做model 的是很少的。最主要我不喜欢的
就是data scientists 大部分是supporting role, 不是core business. 背后没有大
钱。data scientists 比engineer 工资低一级。现在工资高是因为IT 行业工资高。这
个高工资能持续多久很难讲，就看IT行业的泡泡能吹多久了。

发帖数: 43 | 8 一般clinical的机会多一些，规矩比较多尤其是late phase，所以经验很重要。是不是
pay的比nonclinical的高，没有数据比较，不好判断。
其实药厂挺好的，clinical statistician分析的数据对公司很重要，角色明确。虽然
工作内容有点单调，但一般比较重视统计，用恰当统计方法做很精细的分析。基本只招
统计phd，nonclinical里面可能有一部分人不是统计专业的，但一般也都是phd而且有
很好的统计基础和背景。有行业门槛，外面的人不容易进。而且中国人多，基本没有it
行业普遍存在的烙印问题。职业发展也很不错。个人觉得这一行特别适合统计phd。
data science近几年被炒的很火，但在很多公司这是一个全新的组，没有明确的定位，
不容易体现价值。统计只是其中一小部分，组里的同事有不同专业学位背景，你的老板
或者级别比你高的人，可能也只有本科学历，以前也未必是做这一行的。对统计phd而
言，没多少优势，要学很多coding+database+business的东西。 |

如果是MD在招人那很有可能employer对统计和clinical study的管理都没有充分的理解。
data manager也有级别较高的，一般级别高的是data mining 或者管理clinical study
的能力和与人打交道能力很强的（有点类似高级点的project manager)。但是无论高级
低级都和统计关系不大。 |

药厂里ms level进来用到统计的东西本来也不多，因为有很多phd statistician在那里。
这个工作做好了可以慢慢的到clinical operation进而升到管理层，上升空间还是不错

本人是生物phd，phd期间做的是肿瘤相关的， 其中有一些human study，但是没有
clinical trial的。最近毕业在找工作，看了一些clinical trial方面的工作，觉得还
是挺有兴趣的。看job description,好像对背景要求也不是太高，大部分要求本科就行
了。不过要求有工作经验，另外很多职位prefer要护士。投了一些简历，也没有回音。
我想请教一下，这样的职位以我的背景有戏么？这个职位的职业前景怎么样？怎么样才
能进这个行业呢？
