for bachelor's degree, you have to be training in a clinical lab. > 6 months
(may be one year) before you are qualified to sit for the certificate
examination. The clincal lab. you worked should be approved by those
international orgnizations, such as ASCP .

diagnosis. They accept both Ph. D and MD. But the cance for a Ph D is very
low. The advantage that i have is that i co-operate with the director of the
clinical fellowship finish a project. My boss wrote a good letter for me
both to the director of this program and director of the pathology
department.
in my mind: clinical fellow- get license-working in Hopital >> facility
director>= scientist in industry>>>>post doctor |

I know how important a green card is for my family. The application process
is ongoing. i had thought to secure the green card first. But i am not
Young anymore. I had worked for many years in China in hospital. That is why
i stick to the clincal fellowship program. I am quite good at this job. I
even did not think about a 'faculty' position with 9 papers from my Ph D. (
one N/S/C) and 2 papers 'in press' from my 1.5 year of postdoct.

在做attending的我来说，我认为中国医学生还是占了便宜的。也可能是因为专业的关
系，我现在的工作压力不大，很多临床工作都是住院医帮着做了，虽然是属于clincal
track，没有科研压力，但是每天真正做临床的时间平均不超过4个小时，其他的时间都
是在读文献，准备lecture，参加会议，现在还想再搞点科研。收入也是远远比做科研
高很多。虽说是当年考试也是花了不少精力，但是走过来之后，也没觉得多么的不容易
。我相信和我经历类似的朋友有很多。
一二十年前，很多以F2或博士后家属出来陪读的医学院毕业生，就是在家里全职准备考
试，大都成功的当上了医生，要说她们多么难多么不容易，我咋没有看出来？我承认现
在match这条路难走多了，但是对于九十年代就到了美国的那帮人来说，我还真没看出
有多么难。 |

都在家退休抱孙子了。
然后，您这一代，如果留国内的同学，因为那个时候上大学的都是精英，您留国内的同
学都是大医院重要科室的大拿了。很多就着国内经济快速增长，在一线城市都几套房子
了，您这一回头在一线连个房子都买不起了，虽然在美国鸟不拉屎的地方都做医生了。
于是心理极度不平衡，跑生物板上和你同时出国的学生物的比，找点优越感，你觉得这
样有意思么？

able to take the exam, if not, see next paragraph ...
if you are from preventive medicine for undergrad education, try to get a ma
ster degree in clincal medicine and take the chinese clinical licensure exam
ination and get qualified there, and then take USMLE exam here? (refer to

As I know, some hospitals provide externship, which is accounted as us
clinical experience, coz u can practice in hospitals and on real patients
under supervision. Anyone know about this ? Any experience to share?

You can do the google. There are several hospitals offering the externship
or mini residency, however some of them requiring the ECFMG certificate when
you apply. Most likely, you need to relocate.

问我该候选的情况，说考虑要给他pre,想再来查询一下他见习的情况，我跟他俩说
了我的看法，并告知他们，要pre得赶快，UC的KUMAR亲自让他去二次面试单独接见，
而且JHH已经发橄榄枝了。椅子当即表示要立即联系他给窝佛。
我一个才毕业两年的CMG助教，他是三流学校的博士后在我那里见习了一个半月。
效果就是如此。
OB没用的话，我根本不信！
那是见习的人没得到见习的真正效果和真谛。

弄错了，结果错过了，还不知道能不能make up呢？恨死自己了。
好在下周我找到了一个private clinic shadow的机会，千万不能再麻痹大意了，一定

发帖数: 237 | 44 刀老师是“恨铁不成钢”，帮你加深点印象。我的一点经历供参考：我的两个面试均被问及OB。第一个面试APD详细问了我在她们本
院FM做的OB并做了笔记。第二个面试PD问了我的OB和EXTERNSHIP，并做了COMMENTS。当
然我们花了更多的时间谈当地的教育和生活。
面试前我和RECOMMENDERS都打了招呼，他们在LOR里都留了电话和EMAIL。象刀老师得
answer电话backup的，either the program is very, very competitive, or the
candidate didn't impress the program very very much on the scene - 当然多数
是前一种可能性，本鼠对刀老师见习生的综合能力绝无疑问 :-) |

会认识或者向医生推荐自己，找OB的机会。也许很渺茫，但是总是一个希望，比呆在家
里干着急强，我想。 |

好，能吃苦，科研背景强，交流能力不佳。CE是对症下药。而且在CE完了要推荐书的时
候要强调你的交流能力。更别说还有遇到Dok这种伯乐的可能。 |
