China's tech level is like sea level, any countries below that can't live
well
(i.e, get higher than market return).
If China could rely on its own chips, even a fraction of its needs, the
influence will be foundmental. Gradully the upstream and downstream industry
will develop around that, which will be a nightmare for US tech companies,
which is centered around chipmaking.
