You see，The Carpenters 就像蝴蝶飞小鸟叫的小虎队，你说他们不好？没什么不好，
简单易懂，通俗好听。你说他们好，真说不出来好在哪里，不论是从音乐本身，演唱技
巧，或歌词内含来看，都是毫无特色。IMHO, 他们的歌，当背景音乐随便放放不错，但
不必特意去欣赏品味他们（again, 是“味”不是“位”）。
没有什么特色，没有什么特殊之处，没有 。。。嗯 。。。 个性。对，没有个性。
不过这也不是木匠合唱团的错，许多 soft rock 合唱团都是如此。例如 Air Supply（
早期的），America, ABBA（他们的音乐还有点特色）。
做为反例，Simon & Garfunkel 是同时期的另一个 soft rock 重唱团体，自己作词作
曲。但他们的个性明显，是受嬉皮运动影响后的社会关怀歌手，很多歌曲是在描写都市
边缘人，或社会不公义。这种团体，在我的个人感觉里，我称之为 “个性明显”。 |

我小时候有个感觉，就是说起欧美流行音乐首先想到的就是卡朋特，而说起欧美摇滚，
首先想到的就是枪炮与玫瑰。卡朋特和枪炮与玫瑰当时在我心里就是两个极端，一个特

carpenter ants 是可以啃木头做窝的蚂蚁，对房屋结构有损坏。
这个有点类似白蚁，不同的是白蚁是把木头当粮食， carpenter ants
不吃木头，但是打洞做窝，不管的话会把木头挖空。
但是要注意几点。 Carpenter ants 通常在墙上走，
需要找到离窝比较进的地方放糖水。墙上直接放糖水比较困难，
可以用钉子或者粘钩子做出个横杆子，然后两个很靠近的杆子
中间用保鲜膜绕出个可以装水的小坑，里面装上糖水。
Carpenter ants 很大，一开始使劲吃的话很容易吃干净。
补糖水不要伤害和干扰那些吃饱的蚂蚁，让他们把食物带
回去是关键。
同一个出口只需要放一个 bait。 |

The material costs around $2000-$3000 with pre-milled tread returns (if you
buy oak treads, railings and newels but everything else pine. I don't think
you can use the existing treads under the carpet, they are probably just
pine...
It takes two people at least 5 days to finish the carpentry and painting job

严不严重。
1. 房子没盖好前，地下室gliding door外面的水泥平台没有灌得很好，下雨的时候雨
水倒灌进来淹了，不过builder后来重新铺过，算是解决了这个问题。
2 . 93年后院有棵树被风吹倒，砸到屋顶和地下室外墙，各砸出个窟窿，都灌进去些雨
水，保险公司出钱修好了。
3. 屋主说房子盖好3年后发现主卧浴室一面墙墙体变软，同时有carpenter ants出没，
拆了发现wet wood, builder把它换成concrete board. 然后十几年间在房子的其它角
落，比如厨房greenhouse window, family room patio door 附近，时而会看见蚂蚁。
他们做过pest control，换了新greenhouse window和一些外墙。据她自己讲carpenter
ants are indicator for wet wood, 治好了反而没法预测家里其它地方有wet wood了。
