is car pool from the area.
Btw, what are the ascending and descenting routes? Do we camp over night or
what?
Since weather is a BIG factor, the date could not be 100% sure, right? |

发帖数: 746 | 4 Since we live in Boston, we usually do a day hike. Drive from Boston around
7AM, then back to Boston around 10PM.
For Mt. Washington, we go up via Jewell trail from the railway station, go
down via Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail. This hike is relatively easy.
Yes you are right. All the plan depend on weather. |

A difficult hike, 11 miles RT, 4150 ft elevation gain, and we leave Boston
at 7:30AM (so you need get up earlier than this)
Mount Jefferson
Probably the easiest way is to go up the Jewell Trail, from the Base Station
, to the Gulfside Trail to Jefferson [rt: 11.0 miles, 4,150 feet, 7:35]. It
is nowhere very steep or rough, but is exposed to the weather for a long
time. |

发帖数: 746 | 36 漂流的前一天才知道漂流从最难的大漩涡开始而不是先从简单的开始，后来在
旅馆里听两个刚刚漂完的美国人说，他们那一拨有一条船在大漩涡处翻了，上
面的几个女孩子有些受伤了，吓得不敢再漂了。当时给我吓了一下子，晚上直
到三点多才睡着。就担心我们的九位女同学和一位水性不好的男同学别
出事。我几乎决定让他们skip 两个Class V, 第二天又听说水速极高 （3200 CFS,
2500 CFS the day before)，几乎接近不能漂的临界点， 真让我很紧张了。 我和他们
谈能不能从简单初开始因为我们很多人没飘过，他们说不能改，但说可以ＳＫ
ＩＰ两处Class V. 后来我们的队员没有想绕过不漂的。我们的九位女同学们
都很勇敢！就这样开始漂了。 |

讲一个我自己今年爬华山（MT。WASHINTON）的经历, 看看华山的天气使多么的变化无
常。
今年一月九日星期一，我自己一人去爬华山，在山下看着天气很好，可越往上
爬天空越白，慢慢小雪花开始飘了，视野渐渐模糊，等我爬到离山顶还有1.4迈
时，已经有些看不清了，英文叫white out. 我当时立刻决定下山。扭头就往山下跑，
担心能见度太差迷路，那就麻烦了（虽然我有GPS，但会很麻烦找路的，要绕很多圈子
）。 还好很顺利下了山。第二天才知道，和我同一天爬华山的一个美国人，他
爬的是对面的另一个很陡的路线(Tuckerman Ravine), 摔了八百尺下来不幸摔死了。

Otherwise, it should be a pleasant moderate hike. I couldn't come this time.
But I am planning to do one in mid summer.
