讲一个我自己今年爬华山（MT。WASHINTON）的经历, 看看华山的天气使多么的变化无
常。
今年一月九日星期一，我自己一人去爬华山，在山下看着天气很好，可越往上
爬天空越白，慢慢小雪花开始飘了，视野渐渐模糊，等我爬到离山顶还有1.4迈
时，已经有些看不清了，英文叫white out. 我当时立刻决定下山。扭头就往山下跑，
担心能见度太差迷路，那就麻烦了（虽然我有GPS，但会很麻烦找路的，要绕很多圈子
）。 还好很顺利下了山。第二天才知道，和我同一天爬华山的一个美国人，他
爬的是对面的另一个很陡的路线(Tuckerman Ravine), 摔了八百尺下来不幸摔死了。

Otherwise, it should be a pleasant moderate hike. I couldn't come this time.
But I am planning to do one in mid summer.
So be careful, turn back if things go bad! |

You people are unusally fast, up 4.5mi, 3800'eg in 3hrs, down 5.1mi in 2 hrs

I was surprised too. I thought I was better than most of them, but it
turned out most of them are better than I am. It is so sad that I have to
admit the fact that I am old now. 值得一提的是，其中的三位女孩儿太牛了，
Jiang Qian, Hao Liyuan and Yu Lili,他们简直就像一阵风一样刮上了华山(Mt.
Washington), 又像一阵风一样飞下了山，让我惊叹不已。谈笑间，华山已被他们踩在

Never hike up any peaks in White mtns.
I am new in this area.
My 'fastest' record was up the front range Verdugo Mtn (CA) in ~35 min for
1350'eg, ~1.5 mi, couple yrs back. It was hot and no shade. Don't know if I
could do it again anymore, hahaha.

Oh, some explanation. This was just a sprint from work. I was on 70-75 hrs
week project work in CA. I took two hrs afternoon break from work. Drove 20
min to the foothill of Verdugo Peak and sprinted from there.
Sounds more like "torture" than hiking, hahaha.

Well, that's couple yrs back.
My home base is Texas (only temporarily working here in CT). Any meaningful
mountains is ~500mi away. Haven't done any mountain hikes in the last few
yrs. I am out of shape now, hahaha.
The tiny hills around Hartford CT is only couple hundred feet to little over
a thousand feet . Pitiful!
I like White Mtns, but it's unfortunately ~250 mi away :-(
Just see how things go in the next 2-3 months. Thanks!
