Here’s what you can do to bypass the check for pre-release upgrade IF YOU
REALLY REALLY NEED TO:
Download the ISO as you did previously and burn the ISO to a DVD.
Copy the whole image to a storage location you wish to run the upgrade from
(a bootable flash drive or a directory on any partition on the machine
running the pre-release build).
Browse to the sources directory.
Open the file cversion.ini in a text editor like Notepad.
Modify the MinClient build number to a value lower than the dow |

是新买的T500,Vista Business with XP downgrade,预装的是XP.硬盘现有一个大的C (
i.e.,preloaded XP)和一个小的隐藏区.我想在系统盘C上分出一个D盘做文件储存用.先
装上Partition Magic 8.0,结果启动PM时先是显示好几个ERROR,让它FIX后,XP显示有
damage并自动关机了,重启后Partition Magic还是不能开动(曾在T42上装过PM,可以用
的);在 Lenovo Forum上查询,发现别人也有遇到同样问题.那里有人推荐用Parted Magic (
bootable Live CD).我装上后,结果该软件显示我的机器只有一个unallocated硬盘,连现
有的C和隐藏区都不能识别.怎么办?? |

tool called 'gparted'. you need to download it & burn it into cd & run it
thru cdrom. It allows you to remark/unmark active partitions.
I guess vista/win 7 might be able to recover from this type of errors by
running the recovery application included with the installation disk.. not
sure about xp though.

I didn't know about piratebay...
The new HDD is 7200rpm... but the loading time for Windows has been cut more
than 1/2 over the old 5400rpm. Before the swap, when I loaded Windows, the

昨天晚上不小心摔了一下（不是很重），然后系统就不能启动（黑屏，其中有一次启动
到一半死机）。现怀疑是硬盘被震坏了。启动的时候硬盘灯半亮不亮的。硬盘拆下来后
摇晃时有声音（好像是内部有什么东西震脱了。 磁头？）
1. 请问这是不是硬盘问题？有什么办法可以确诊？
2. 如果是硬盘问题，还有没有可能retrive some data from it?
3。 假如我买了一块新硬盘，是不是要做一张windows bootable DVD? how to do that?

3. install lenovo system upgrade to get all the drivers
if there is anything wrong, use thinkvatage to go back to factory state.

你正常的分区表是这样的：
1. primary, bootable, Vista BOOT
2. EISA, system recovery
3. primary, disk C
现在你的EISA被mark成primary,成了disk C, 所以BOOT一启动就找到EISA，但EISA没有
操作系统，所以机器死了。
办法：
1）用test-disk监测第二分区的目录结构，是不是恢复文件
2）把第二分区从primary改成EISA
test-disk报错和你的机器故障的原因是，Boot放在第一sector,但EISA竟然在Boot的后
面，所以硬盘修复后建议备份EISA分区的文件（刻成DVD），然后把EISA删掉。 |

2) partition and format 硬盘 and boot to 硬盘
3) install from U盘 or copy i386 to 硬盘 to install.
* DOS is from win98
* Delete all 硬盘 partition(s) before making new partition
* one could use DOS to remove unwanted partition in win7 too. |

你得是XP的安装盘，或者iso刻出来的才可以
另外，sata的机器安装XP可能会很麻烦
你去找找xlite的软件和攻略
会教你怎么streamline SP3,还有sata的driver
你最好在vista下把这些信息找全了，还有其他chipset的driver
intel chipset还比较简单，nvdia或者AMD的都挺烦 |

应该可以从那个分区启动。
不过你这种情况，很可能还没写入bootloader。
另外就是，如果分区已经成功，光盘放进去，重启，过程中按C键从光盘启动，然后装
到你给windows分的那个区里面。
我没这样搞过，你先备份一下自己的Mac，谨慎使用吧。 |

下载了bios升级文件，因为系统是64位的win7所以不能直接升级bios
下载的文件里有个bootable光盘镜像可以升级64位的win7
把这个光盘镜像做到u盘里，插上u盘启动，电脑是从u盘启动了，没有进入windows，但
是说没有发现能启动的设备（原来不插u盘，电脑启动没问题），难道只能刻光盘才行？
上网google了一下,可以用u盘版winpe，手上没有winpe
请问还有没有其它简单的方法？

Windows XP users
Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer. Configure bios to boot
from the CD.
When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key.
Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing
