allowing same-sex couples to marry, putting state residents in line with
changing attitudes across the country.

The federal challenge to Proposition 8 could be televised under a new
experimental program authorized by the Judicial Council of the 9th Circuit.
The authorization arrives just weeks before the federal trial over Prop 8,
which banned same-sex marriage in California last year, is scheduled to
begin in San Francisco, according to The Recorder .

Police canceled the first Mr. Gay China pageant one hour before it was
scheduled to begin at a nightclub in Beijing on Friday, saying that
organizers failed to follow proper planning procedures.
According to the Associated Press, police appeared at the nightclub and told
pageant organizer Ben Zhang that the homosexual content was not the reason
for the cancellation.
