bioprocess里一个leader管理的人比较多，所以PhD职位相对比较少。另外因为工作比
较稳定，压力相对小一些，turnover rate很低，好不容易有个位子空出来，会有很多
内部其他部门的人申请。 |

找工作半年多了，很不顺利，
有一些想法，想和大家分享。
版上大多数兄弟姐妹的专业是CS及相关，
所以类似的经历对我这样的工程专业就不太适用了。
先介绍一下我的背景，
我的专业是Chemical Engineering，
方向是Biochemical/Bioprocess Engineering, Fermentation,
Protein Expression & Recovery,
学历是刚毕业的博士。
在找工的过程中，
我发现，这个博士学位对工程行业来说，
基本上是一个负资产。
因为，工程行业，尤其是负责过程开发这一块的，
强调的是工作经验，而非学历高低。
相关的Openings绝对不能算少，
但是，大多数要求的是本科学历，
少数面向博士学历的又往往要求若干年的工作经验。
即使我冒着Overqualify的风险去低就那些初级职位，
公司却又往往不愿意为这样的职位Sponsor工作签证。 |

onsite, offer一个木有。目前的单位干不下去了，每天想着走人。。。。都想辞职干
外卖了。

些的生物相关专业。比如pharmaceutical science里面的制剂，药动药代。化工里面的
bioprocess development等等。这些专业相对好找些，但是没有绿卡也不容易。
最好来美国后立马娶个公民老婆，快速拿绿卡后马上申请学生贷款转行。两三年就可以
找工作赚钱养家了。或者自己能折腾有本事的话，根本不用读书，随便做个小生意，很
容易丰衣足食的。只要自己不挑，娶公民老婆比学生物找工作容易得多。 |

化工和生物工程背景的人。不多的几个和学术界工作类似的研发职位早被千老们抢疯了。

触个pilot scale的发酵罐吧。美国有Bioprocess Engineering专业啥的可能会涉及些
发酵，但是皮毛而已缺少实际经验。
进公司实习相接触大规模发酵？更是别想了，你随随便便进去了菌株被你粘到鞋底弄走
了咋办，呵呵
我觉得机会挺重要的，以前有相关课程背景更容易切入。
我认识的几个做发酵的朋友，两个在诺维信，两个在BASF，一位在孟山都，全都是国内
毕业的相关PhD，
在美国历练了多年后才得到机会逐渐进入大公司。完全没有经验的，基本没希望
教我做发酵的是个美国人，退休了，在诺维信，BP，Bayer，Promega等等众多公司干了
