时候着实愣了一下，即使在Nan同学详细讲解了如何kayak去bio bay，我还是一知半解
中，想象着从山洞（？）里穿过，去一个独立海湾的场景……。据说这是波多黎哥的“
Must See”，又有人说这是“Once in a lifetime experience”，再有各位的强力推
荐，我对bio bay tour真的是非常期待。
先来解释一下什么是bio bay吧，我相信没去过波多黎哥的人中，90％估计也不知道到
底bio bay是个啥东东。Bio Bay全称：Bioluminescent Bay，全世界只有5个这样的荧
光海湾，波多黎哥就有其中的三个。之所以称它为荧光海湾，是因为bay中生长着很多
单细胞微生物dinoflagellate，当这些微生物受到外界打扰之时就会发出荧光。很神奇
的，在平静的水面之下，桨的摆动带着一阵一阵的荧光。不过在阳光下你是无缘看到这
种神奇的现象的，必须在月光不是很明亮的夜晚才能一饱眼福。

周末想去周边小玩两三天的可意考虑去GREEN BAY.对了有经验的来说说这个DOOR COUNTY
到底有哪些值得玩的地方?我目前查了下,就知道GREEN BAY有个橄榄场比较有名,然后有
个野生动物保护区可以看动物,SISTER BAY有家叫Al Johnson's restaurant的瑞典餐馆
有山羊在屋顶吃草.有几个州立公园和灯塔可以玩,大湖可以坐船或者KAYAK.哦GREEN
BAY还有个赌场貌似可以吃BUFFET不知道菜怎么样?

Birch Bay is a small retirement town located at the US-Canada boarder on the
Pacific coast. Vancouver is on the north side of the bay. Victoria, the
capitol of BC, is on the southwest across the bay and small islands.

眼地图，哟，这个Chesapeake Bay和杭州湾的形状还真像。
上片片。
杭州湾
Chesapeake Bay

从数据上看，Chesapeake Bay要更长一点，有200km，杭州湾只有130km。不过要论水急
浪高，恐怕还是杭州湾要胜出。
Chesapeake Bay最宽的地方是Potomac River的南边，50km，最窄的地方是Plum Point
和Harford County shore，有4.5km。但最宽的部分不是在bay的口子，口子要更窄一些
，可以阻挡一些海流。
杭州湾最宽的地方就在口子上，宽达95km，最窄的地方在海宁，只有3km。整个形状就
是个急剧收缩的喇叭口，开口的地方对海流毫无阻挡。
所以冲刷的深度上，CB的平均深度是14m，而杭州湾有20m!
不过在最大深度上，杭州湾要稍逊一筹，在金山卫-乍浦一带，有40m, CB则有63m。
两个bay都有跨海大桥了。

houston的职位就
是很四平八稳，不会有大的起伏，做的东西也和自己的research相关，税交的也少。
Oracle的职位就
很不一样了，去了估计是做程序员，从写程序做起，跟cs出身的比没什么优势，要从头
学起，好处就是
那边机会比较多，将来自己做或者跟别人做都有很多的机会，又或者可以在那里写两年
code然后去做
quant因为本人数学背景。朋友都劝我呆在houston，但是总是觉得做geologist会越走
路越窄。实在
是有些犹豫，在此真诚请教大家！

之路。上桥前的右边城市，是Annapolis，马里兰州的首府，也是美国的老首都，以及
美国海军学院所在地。上桥前的左边，是sandy point state park。一个靠bay水边的
公园，也有个beach可以玩，不过这个beach的沙子不是白色而是黄色不太漂亮。
Chesapeake Bay 出产著名的螃蟹。。蓝蟹。大家如果到马里兰，一定要吃蓝蟹。 我去
年还经朋友指点，带了另外一个钓友，在bay里钓到一条striper， 在MD，striper的
keeper size是18寸以上。
夏天，从Annapolis，你可以坐cruise船，游览bay和bay bridge。
以前在杭州时，杭州湾对我们的影响是风暴啊。。1988年，杭州城遭受大风暴袭击。。
很多大树都倒了，其它我们还能干什么，钱塘江游泳，钓鱼，都没有干过。。据说也钓
不到鱼。。呵呵。
我知识不深，就表面的东西，我补充一下，供大家来DC这边玩时参考。

就都是从这里出发的.连接Tampa和St.Pete, Tampa和Clearwater的垮海大桥,

发帖数: 5272 | 21 一冬天无论多冷，俺没闲着，一直在钓可爱皮，可开春暖和了，却没鱼了。至少三个多
星期前吧，本地气温忽然从40/50度一下飙升到70度，我心说坏了，冬天的鱼窝要空巢
了。果不其然，前线发来消息，所有鱼窝都空了。接下来两周，或忙于家务或天气下雨
，只能偶尔抽空去急急甩两竿，上游确实是没鱼了。鱼一定都跑到下游河口了。河口是
Belmont Bay，河水由窄深变得浅而宽阔，升温快，鱼的食物也先期丰富起来。鱼都跑
到这里，一点也不奇怪。有点奇怪的是它们跑得也太快了些，刚一升温，冬天的鱼窝马
上就都空了。
今天忙完家事已经下午3点多。赶紧奔赴向往已久的Belmont Bay。一直在河里玩，还没
来河湾钓过呢。今天任务就是证实，鱼，确实跑到这里来了。

Belmont Bay水面宽阔，风浪很大。划着筏子风里浪里拼搏前进,看到合适的地方就抛上
一竿。 终于有了第一个咬口。今天的目标鱼是可爱皮，却先上来一条战争嘴，今年第
一条warmouth。战争嘴名字有些怪，那是源于它嘴上象印第安人进入战争时脸上画的条

发帖数: 144 | 30 看来去多伦多和千岛湖的计划响应的不多，可能是签证和太远的原因。临时改变计划，
长周末去Ohio的Put-In-Bay和Cedar Point。
离这里很近，两小时车程。put in bay 是lake erie中的几个小岛，要坐ferry去，听
说被誉为北方的Key west,这个周末会有很多活动。

从put in bay开半个小时车，在lake erie 边上就是ohio著名的游乐园cedar point
www.cedarpoint.com 有很多惊险刺激的过山车，而且是在湖边，感觉一定不一样。
有一种票只要25元，下午四点进去玩到晚上十点关门，现在九点半才天黑正好。
如果紧张点安排，我们上午可以去 put in bay 下午去cedar point,如果大家觉得太累
，可以在那里住一个晚上。第二天在去cedar point。

今天人走的比较散，我们在去和回来的路上碰到了许多拨。有新鲜人，更有半新不旧的
:),有许多的小孩，也有好多探亲的父母亲。今天的天气很好，浪没有预期的大，实际
上比平常的都要小。大部分r人还是看风景与热闹的，带了license的是少数。我们行动
很快，半个多小时的时间，大家基本上都把10磅的限额捡满了。
在half moon bay赶海的一些tip:
1. Half moon bay 的mussel bed在礁石上半路和里边都有，但外面的要比里边个头小
很多，建议往里走。
2. 潮水每天退潮两次，只要潮水低，时间合适，都可以赶海。但同样的，潮水不等人
，大家赶海时请注意时间，确保涨潮时能安全回到岸边。查潮水的高度与时间，请
google "tide table half moon bay".
3. Fishing license 每年12月底过期，现在买是最合适的时间。Half moon bay 从5月
到10月是贝类quarantine时间，不允许捡mussel (捉螃蟹,钓鱼是可以的), 其他时间都

西雅图的人傻钱多脾气好。bay area的人自我感觉超级好，脾气特差。
在同样的大华超市很多bay area的人感觉自己跟啤酒盖子一样，而西雅图就是个农民。
开个车，bay area似乎在抢死一样，这边太礼貌了。微软的软件工程师脾气如此之好，
感觉骂他半天也回不了一句。
我就是不懂，为啥西雅图的公司远不如bay area多？ |

刚入了4-bay的，出老的2-bay nas，考虑咱佛版兄弟应该有需要装照片的就发这一个，版主要是觉得跑题了帮忙删了就好。
synology入门级2-bay nas ds212j，买了一年多，一切良好，24*7跑了一年多一点问题都没有过。不带硬盘价$120.
另外搭售2枚wd red 2tb硬盘，去年末入的，一直在212j里面跑raid1.刚跑了次smart，一切正常。$60/枚。

想过升级为2 bay的，也准备raid 0裸奔，为了多一倍的容量。
最后变成要上4 bay的了，想到这下硬盘坏的概率就比1 bay的多了4倍，还一损俱损。
怕怕呀。可是要上个raid 1, raid 10什么的，这容量就又浪费了一半。
而且买了WD Red NAS盘后才发现在新蛋这个系列的盘的名声特别差，有人报告买4块24
小时内就死掉3块的。
请问各位前辈是怎样处理这个容量与安全的矛盾的呀？在实际使用中硬盘损坏的情况如

你的机器如果只有一个sata接口，或者2个sata都是uefi下导引，比如台式机就没问题
。但你的机器既有uefi下boot的(hdd bay)又有leagacy下boot的（media bay)，这样的
设置三爽的ssd就不能正常boot.
所以凡是带media bay的uefi笔记本，无论你弄我，HP还是dell都一个样。meida bay下
的uefi是行业标准，三爽的问题是没有生产符合这个行业标准的ssd。 |
