about which companies Microsoft sees as its competitors in the client
operating system space. You'd think Apple was their number one competitor -
and you'd be wrong. Microsoft sees two other competitors as their primary
adversaries.
During a speech for investors, Steve Ballmer showed the following slide to

shares in the company. Former CEO Steve Ballmer owns 333,252,990 shares.

新人都要和人share office。这男老美正好和一女老美合用一间。
我去看他。好像混得还行。
另一个桌子上杂乱的堆着一些文档。他说，那个女的是个PM，半年没看到了。也不
work from home。根本就见过一次，感觉有点mental。
我说，那么久没上班还不开除？
他说，不仅没开，HR还给组里每个人专门写了封信，要大家不要动她桌子上的任何东
西，桌子上一切保持原来的样子。
Tim又说，原来以为Steve Ballmer工作最稳定，现在才知道，当精神病更好。有吃有
喝有钱赚，还不用上班。
我觉得有道理。后来一想，也不对。Steve Ballmer本来说是超傻。应该说，傻子和
神经在MS里工作是一样稳定的。

他原话说的是surface一开始在有限的国家销售，而不是销量有限。。。。
当然很明显，在有限的国家卖的也不是特别的多。。。

Yahoo owns 45% of Alibaba at the time, which is worth around $45B if Alibaba
is worth $100B, I think Alibaba will be worth $200B in 3-5 years.

问题会发现有些问题并不是Ballmer的责任。
1. 微软的一些重大决策及管理制度多少还是要有董事会点头的，起码不会强烈反对。
现在Ballmer在董事会的支持率一直还很高，这说明什么？ Gates也还是董事会主席，
难道董事会都是一群傻瓜，眼睁睁看着一个蠢货祸害公司10多年而不行动？ 毕竟对于
董事来说，经济回报是大于一切的。
2. 很多人批判微软动作缓慢，是有它内部的很多问题，但是另外一个因素是沉重的历
史包袱。别的不说，就说Windows这么多年了，就是那些需要支持的陈年老旧的驱动，
设备类型，技术类型，用户多年形成的操作习惯和体验，等等都是远远超出想象的。这
些实际问题对于开发新产品的时候会产生很多限制。 相比较而言，一些现在风头正劲
的公司可谓是轻装前进了。这个问题在一个公司发展到一定时期后都是难免遇到的。
3. Ballmer真的是头猪吗？ 微软工作的人都是猪头吗？ 很多实际问题从外看不见，但
也没法公开说。 换别人就真的能比Ballmer更好？ 很多决策性的失误也是Gates在位的
