我带儿子坐火车先到Aspen滑三天。今年比较暖和，山下雪有点化，但山上很好。第二
天晚上下了一夜的雪，第三天滑的全是粉雪。
坐火车到盐湖城后，在Alta和Snowbird各滑一天，住在城里，每天单程45分钟。Alta和
Snowbird都是粉雪，每天下午雪下得什么也看不见，但是雪真是好。我租的车牌上写“
Greatest Snow on Earth",名不虚传！
比较一下，我更喜欢Snowbird.雪场更大，地形变化更多，更有挑战性。因为被儿子拖
着，所以两个雪场都没有滑很多，所以判断有可能偏颇。
住在城里的好处是可以到处找吃的。盐湖城的中餐不错，就是有一样令我惊奇：我点了
一个毛血旺，居然里面没有血！服务员说美国的毛血旺不让放血，这太扯了。我昨晚在
我们这特意点了个毛血旺，没错，有血！只能呵呵了。
今年买的Mountain Collective pass,很适合我，盐湖城我这是第三次来了（第一次滑
雪），印象很好。准备下个雪季再买这个pass,来盐湖城滑两次。 |

Snowbird because it's steep. 10k elevation and over 3200 ft vertical drop.
Alta is skier friendly (no boarders). Alta is a good place for family
activity.
SLC is probably the biggest (and very few) metropolitan with a very short
drive to renown ski resorts. It's a short
drive from the airport to the resorts. The two cottonwood canyons (little
and big) boasts 4 major resorts. Brighton has night ski. Park city is a

似乎owner title insurance 1200+, 旁边也有一个跟贷款(我以为就是lenders title她
insurance了）相关的，基本上是50和100.这正常么？还是我还没quote lenders title
insurance?
我看银行给我的closing cost上面的明细，两个title insurance都是1000+啊。
很困惑。
还有quote的时候，问你使用的是什么policy form。有类似如下的选项：
ALTA homeowner's policy of title insurance
ALTA standard coverage policy

手机GPS我已经把这个点标好了，这次走一定不会错了。
个人觉得这个路线的确比传统线好玩多了，也没什么难度（如果不走错）

season前,alta有一种powder card还是不错的,相当于10张lift ticket，每张有10刀的
discount。
不过你可以试试alta的ski free after 3 pm，就是人很多。 |

I hiked at Alta from the parking lot to the top of Sugarloaf on the July 4th
weekend and saw hardly any flowers at all. I'm going this Sun again at

same - two tops in the Canyon School Dist. But Alta is very, very crowded,
cuz it has to serve Draper(no pub HS) and south Sandy.
Skyline is still better.

孩的课，轮流看更小的孩子。兴旺啊，现在只剩一半人家了。
花费小，起点低，老师很耐心，一般说来，总有更差的，心理压力也小。本地居民还没
开始滑雪的，不妨试一试。

complete white-out day on the top and windy I may add( yeah, as if Alta was
much better).
How bad you asked? All the chairs on top were marked “Expert Only” – for
whatever it’s worth. Not only the catwalks to either Road to Provo or
Path to Paradise were closed but good luck in finding them. They were
completely covered with new snow and blended in with the natural slopes.

一年级开始滑雪不算早，在犹他，四五岁滑雪只算起跑线。
1。本周末去采购，

（1）上身，下身，内衣，外衣，袜子，手套，头盔，防风镜，面罩（抢银行那种）
（2）滑雪票，课程票（现在买便宜）附近的几个雪场都在摆摊。
2。尽早去附近的ski&see租一雪季的雪板，雪棍，靴子。
不知你们财力心力体力智力状况，其实有些家第一年去alta的初学区滑就够了。每天3
点后$5一天。我们一家从零开始，alta上的扫盲班:$75三个下午，绕半天缆车票。然后
就抱着各路高手大腿成“菜”了。
一般说来，当妈的要自己开点小灶，才能保证一家人在一起的时段多一些。要不然像我
们家，在蓝道上，小的对我说没意思，领导骂我把她往悬崖上领。 |

， 但是1月17号是black out date。要么交$59刀，滑canyon，或者去别的雪场看看，
请问盐湖城如何找lift的deal？
在liftopia查了下1月17号的lift，价格接近的有如下雪场
Snowbird $79
Alta $73
Brighton $56
Powder Mountain $68
大家帮忙推荐下这天去哪个雪场比较好？我们两个人，都是双板(ski)，能下没有树林
的黑道
。住在盐湖城downtown，到park city和alta距离都一样。

时间：2012年的马丁路德节周末,也就是1月14,15,16日 (周六,周日,周一).
到达时间为13号，周五。离开是16号下午或者晚上。
住宿是周五晚，周六，和周日三个晚上。
如果自己有时间周五提前到的，可以凭当天机票去Park City免费滑雪，不
过这个由个人自己安排。

因为我有一个rider朋友不能去alta，不然29日能同他们一起去alta，当面请教了。
主要提了这些要点：
1.手保持在身体前，承怀抱姿势。叉杖的时候往左（右）前方，而不是侧面。不叉的手
要保持怀抱姿势，不要留在身后。
2.小腿保持压鞋舌。把鞋舌当方向盘。重心不要靠后。
3.腿部有弹性。 |

because of the ski only policy. I am thinking if Alta changes this policy,
they will lose some business to the neighboring snowbird.
I am not sure if ski only makes better snow but it makes sense to me in two
ways:
1. beginning riders tend to heel side down when the slope gets a little bit
steep, which could make the snow more packed.
2. mogul pattern could be changed

on coming back to Alta.
And Deer Valley is a prime example of a decent resort going bad. I don't
know if anyone remembers or ever been to Deer Valley 12 yrs ago - before
their so-called "big renovation". It was a nice quint little place, good
ski, good atmosphere, and inexpensive. Now they market it like some sort of
high-end Park City. I probably will never go back again. Not that they

Also, most of the online reviews and a local pro prefer alta over the bird
for snow quality although they share the same peak(due to the ski-only
policy or higher base?).
We definitely will have some pictures and clips and will upload the good

It was a great experience to ski with her and be guided in Alta by her. She
knows the mountain so well and shows us the beauty of ski area that we
cannot figure out with limitted time to explore.
I believe I will be a frequent visitor to Alta and other SLC ski areas in

We plan to go to Alta on Friday. Sunday is undecided.We may go to Alta,
Snowbird or Brighton. But we'll ski for a bit more than half day since we
need to catch our flights.
