我家小子们，马上就一个11，一个8岁了。CNN Students News 编排得相当好，虽然是
面向高中生的，但我家老大很喜欢，老二跟着凑热闹 。
Pledge of Allegiance 我也会背（跟着儿子的Cub Scout 学的），那只有30几个词，
和独立宣言（1330多词）简直不可同日而语啊。
我觉得呢，背还是要的，但是背的内容，可讨论的就多了。只说中文吧，个人认为，适
当地背诵诗词，童谣开始，古诗和现代诗都可以加上，只要是孩子能理解的（理解即可
，千万别搞正儿八经的赏析），好处不少。如果以放松的方式，孩子并不抗拒，反而会
享受呢。不只中文，英文也一样，这个原则语言应该都适用。我也让我家娃们背点简单
的英文诗。 |

是说没有人因为叛国罪被监禁和处罚（注意是监禁，不是什么徒刑）；第二，条文里只

1.洗手间里的马桶叫toilet。家里的洗手间叫bathroom。外面的洗手间叫restroom。
2.吃饭要给小费，一般给消费数额的10%--15% ，快餐厅不给小费 。
3.商店售货员态度都特别好，第一句话是how are you today，这时应该很自然地回答good ，她会说nice，然后说if there is any problem please let me know。买东西结账之后要和他们说have a nice day，也许他们说在你前头，那就说thank you，you too吧。
4.没买东西也可以大方地走出去，他们会说thanks for coming ，see you。

从40年代到90年代, 高院判决的 有关政教关系的案例 恐怕加起来也有近60件.
就光是 关于公力学校誓词案 就不知判了多少个来回,
直至今日,政教分离主义 和 政教调和主义 在这些问题上面的斗争从来也没有停止过. |

每读一次就不得不再次感慨当时立国之父们的英明及远见。他们在北美这块土地上，抛
弃了大不列颠的君王统治，建立起美利坚这样一个伟大的国家。
一切似乎都是上帝赐予的：这块土地上不仅有雄伟壮观的东部阿普拉契山脉及西部的落

Kids have to do it starting from kindergarten. It is the law.
In this case the school appoligized because the state law and the school's
student handbook both prohibit students from being forced to recite the
Pledge.
If you were not a us citizen, of course you didn't have to, or you shouldn't

就自动取消. 比较有意思的是, 日本, 韩国和新加坡都是如此规定. 可能是儒家文化的
传统.
美国承认双重或者多重国际, 但是也要尊重其它国家的法律. 所以美国规定, the
oath of citizenship requires that all other allegiances be renounced. If you
take such an oath voluntarily, you renounce U.S. citizenship.
还有中国也必须遵循美国的法律, 通常放弃美国国籍必须是Give up citizenship
outside the United States. 只有在特殊的情况下, 才能在美国国内放弃美国国籍,
