Hello,
Last night I drove up to the same spot I was at last year for
that amazing show. 25 miles south of Albany to escape the lights,
2000 feet elevation. (near Renssaelearville (sp?)).
On the way up at 3:30am, I figured out how to tune the FM radio
to spots between stations. The radio has scan only, but can be
tuned if another button is pressed first.
I heard perhaps one per minute on the way up, short blips of
music or voice most lasting less than a second. I wasn' |

发帖数: 2972 | 5 是的. ALBANY的小黑屋一直很贵,大多数都是192X-193X建的, 1300SQFT在ALBANY就算'
大"房子.一年最多1-2个1980年以后的SFH出来卖( 1M以下).
其实ALBANY的房价一直涨的比大多数地区早,跌的不其它地方迟. ALBANY的SFH价格去年
基本就和高峰价格持平了,今年价格涨的幅度很小(基本没怎么涨),但是8月份前
MULTIPLY BID还是很多的.最近1个月忽然SLOW了,具体原因还不太清楚.
如果不是2口子都在BERKELEY或RICHMOND的政府工作,我一般不推荐ALBANY.如果2人都在
BERKELEY附近上班,没有其他的选择.周围只有PIEDMONT比ALBANY更好,但房价又高一个
档次. |

住过Toledo, OH; Albany, NY; Queens,NY;短住过几次Houston以及去过那中国人买菜
吃饭的地方。我想Toledo就算是代表 midwest 了吧。
Rochester 比 houston 要不方便很多。 中国店出奇的差，菜是烂的，跟Toledo差不多
。中国餐馆比Albany, Houston, and, of course, queens, 差。但比Toledo好。生活
成本Rochester略高于Houston和Toledo 低于Albany和Queens.
中国人聚集感比albany， houston 差。
Downtown 比较萧条和穷。但是比Houston downtown稍有文化感。差于Albany.
比较Houston,治安应该差不多。White trash 不少。 但红脖不多。 |

也有OVERFLOW的问题, 而且FREMONT比ALBANY远多了(从APARTMENT出发动SF BART站出口
远不止10分钟的差距,估计单程相差20分钟), ALBANY很小,所有地方里BART站很近. 如
果你住在535/545/555 PIERCE, TRANSBAY BUS就在楼下, 去SF还多一个选择.
ALBANY的房租应该和FREMONT稍好区差不多.你这种情况,我觉得ALBANY比FREMONT强很多

Piedmont高中也只是900多一些. 比不上ORINDA和湾区其他几个TOP的高中.
在Fremont,除了Mission High这样的TOP学校, 买不起我还可以选择稍差的Irvington
High School.
在Albany/Piedmont周围, 除了这两所学校(独立的学区/FUNDS),其他学校只能用惨不忍
睹来形容. Albany/Piedmont范围又非常小,上市的房子非常少,供需一不平衡,导致价格
也"高不可攀". |

有坐.
湾区算是BIKE-FRIEND,尤其SF市里.
EMEYVILLE和FREMONT谁好,不好说. ALBANY华人多,离大华和COSTCO很近( 大华是WALK
distance). 对家人来说, ALBANY生活更方便些,尤其有老人来,很容易找到说话的人.
EMRYVILLE基本都是上班族(SF),交通更便利些. ALBANY的BART站应该是EL CERRITO
PLAZA或NORTH BERKELEY. ALBANY和EMERYVILLE都很小.

TRANSBAY BUS只有早上和晚上时间有，其实没那么方便

说实在的，我觉得ALBANY的三个小学也没有那么好，就是一般水平，管的也不严。。。
我比较喜欢ALBANY一代的原因是，华人多，离大华近...
当然附近BERKELEY和RICHMOND的黑人也不少 |

我都住过
如果娃要上DAYCARE啥的，还是FREMONT吧，便宜，选择多，PLAYGROUND也很好，华人多
，还有湖边可以溜娃，公交不发达，很多车都是一小时一辆，华人大部分都是南湾或者
城里工作的
Albany有535/555 PIERCE,那一带是APT， 2BED，最近好像三千了，还有好多私人的，
但都比较老旧，学生和POSTDOC比较多，还有一些很老的居民，还有一个STUDIO GROW，
可以给娃玩，里面很多中国学生的家属啥的，公交车最发达，去哪都可以公交，十几分
钟一辆，班次超级多
Daly City我住的是靠COLMA HILLSIDE，雾没传说中的那么夸张，可能是因为靠山，靠
海那一侧估计不行，BART超级方便，10分钟走路到BART站，在城里上班超级方便，华人
没有FREMONT和ALBANY多，但胜在超级方便，公车基本20分钟左右一辆，班次少，介于
ALBANY和
FREMONT中间。DAYCARE不了解，那时候还没有娃。溜娃的地方好像没有啥 |

不前的状况。北Fremont亚裔以高科技家庭为主，学校上升趋势明显。而Albany亚裔组
成很杂，附近高科技家庭有能力的都会选择住在24号沿线那边。如果非要考虑Albany的
话，尽可能往山上住，山下治安状况非常不好。同事九点多繁华大街边上停车买杯咖啡
，车窗就被砸了。
: Bart 沿线即可，北fremont学区不行，南fremont又太远太贵，三谷的dublin和
: pleasanton可以考虑，pleasanton学区好些但也贵些

个prof，usnews上面albany 和OSU的 student to faculty ratio都是19:1。。。
就算wiki上面没有错，给你看看你450million发的paper数， 2006-2010年你的albany
大学发了4787篇文章，OSU灌水27519篇。我理解albany虽然是个小农村，但是物价很贵
。。。lol

针对科学研究诚信的重要问题表示如下观点：
1. 我们反对任何形式的学术不端行为，并强烈主张一个科技工作者应当保持高标准的
学术道德规范。我们支持揭露任何形式的学术不端。与此同时，要确证学术不端的 案
例，我们必须遵循合法和适当的调查程序。例如，美国公共卫生署关于学术研究不端行
为的处理指南规定，对学术研究不端行为指控的调查，起初应当是非公开 的，其首先
应当由所涉及机构的内部委员会调查并处理。“无罪假定 (Innocent until proven
guilty)”是我们在调查学术不端的指控时必须遵守的一个重要原则。

老.
如果不是两口子都在ALBANY附近上班,一般我不推荐ALBANY. ALBANY学区好只是相对的
好( 与周围的RICHMOND,BERKELEY和OAKLAND比), 按绝对值 来说,只是二线高中( API大
概在850-860), PIEDMONT高中勉强算一线高中API 910左右. 都不如ORINDA?MORAGA的高
中好. |

ALBANY 现在3BEDROOM的小黑屋( 1300SQFT)条件稍好的要>$650K
只考虑小学, MONTCLAIR更AFFORDABLE一些, 而且从13号公路去BERKELEY很方便.
UPPER ROCKRIDGE虽然价格也贵,但同样条件的房子也比ALBANY便宜些. ALBANY太小,房
源少,供需不平衡导致房间高. 还有KENGINGTON, EL CERRITO HILLS等等. |

我客户上周接受了ＳＥＬＬＥＲ的ＣＯＵＮＴＥＲ ７０Ｗ（２个ＯＦＦＥＲ），但周
末后悔了,今天正式退出合同(没交押金,没做INSPECTION).今天SELLER BACK-TO-MARKET
后又把ASKING PRICE下降到65W.
这个房子有几个缺点:1) LOT小,没有扩建的空间 2)一楼采光差( 二楼所有房间都有天
窗,采光没问题). 3)外墙/屋顶需要修/换(COST在$35K左右,SELLER的INSPECTION).
优点:1)新.ALBANY绝大多数房子都是192X,193X年建的. 这个房子是1985年翻建的.
2)价格便宜. 1500SQFT的SFH在ALBANY, 70W在2012年都绝对算是DEAL. 也就最近几周,
不知道什么原因, ALBANY的OFFER一下子少了.

人都很漂亮。那个牛嫂就是albany的。kattywh，红凌艳，也是蛮好看的一个苏北女人
。老id了。不知道有没有离婚外f。光说漂亮和骚货，suny albany绝对能和nyu的女生
比肩，不逊哥大的。但是哪，一论气质就跟nyu没法比了。毕竟一个学校边上是一个破

wage — but state lawmakers have no plans to return to Albany to do so.
A coalition of union, religious and anti-hunger groups gathered in Albany on
