Gifted主要是指一点就通的孩子，重复的东西让他们感到Boring，要给他们不断新的挑
战才能保持他们的兴奋度，所以对他们的讲课进度快，跳跃的多。常规的课堂教学（适
合大部分小孩）是做多做几次重复小孩才记得住。
High Achiever是乖孩子，听家长老师的话，有耐心，能重复练习，成绩比普通小孩好。
真正的Gifted教学是针对Gifted小孩的接受能力，安排教学内容和进度，所以要单独分
班，安排懂得这些特殊儿童的老师来教学。
真正的Gifted小孩做CogAT是不用准备的。把考试内容用来训练High Achiever，他们很
听话，练习几遍后考试没问题。但是把High Achiever安排进Gifted班，容易有挫折感
，别人一下就明白了，自己还有多想一想，多做几遍。就算自己很努力跟上，由于这种
教学方式不适合自己，学得也不牢。
当然，现在很多地方的教育系统没有钱，Gifted Program都只是做个认证，没有实际的
安排内容，考上没考上也没什么差别。

RFE对我没有提任何问题，但是要求公司出示很多详细资料。
目前最头疼的就是achieved documented accomplishments in the field.(我们公司是

还没有搜索到。有什么好的媒体报道搜索软件么？自己在网上发动博友折腾一些网文出
来算数么？
如果自掏腰包在国内或者美国这边的大众媒体或者专业期刊上登一些宣传公司的文章，
能算数么？
大概要多少钱？
类似情况有什么好的应对之策么？

实际上越显示这些人的空虚和肤浅。
不少搞科研的回国也是副教授、钱虽然少、但慢慢熬、终归可以熬到教授。

，忘了申请过什么，记忆中没一个成功的。结果今天收到Achieve card的一张master，
实在想不起来什么时候申请过了。
看了一下cardholder agreement，居然每个月有9.99的maintainence fee，我倒，神志
清醒的情况下我觉得不会申请这种垃圾卡。凡是有annual fee的都直接被我pass，怎么
会有这种垃圾卡冒出来。
想问问achieve card是个什么公司，看起来也不像银行。
卡片我不打算用，没开通，需要打电话取消吗？还是直接剪断卡片扔了就可以了呢？

gifted是老天给的gift, 与生俱来的能力. gifted的人天资高,如果努力,
很容易成功.东边不亮西边亮,总有一处能亮. 就算不是十分努力,也能当个
小学老师. 除非太不努力,太没追求,才会一团糟.
high acheiver就不一样了. 顾名思义是非常能够acheive的人.不管是
不是真聪明,是不是gifited, 但是肯定是努力了. 在学习和工作上,
至少付出了成功需要的努力,没有放任自流,没有浪费机会.
gifted只是让成功来得相对容易,但并不能保证成功.
而high acheiver则是不达成功不罢休的.
我们家长要做的,就是让自己的孩子成为high achiever. |

endurance。
但 high power 不一定有 good endurance，即使游泳锻炼加音乐放松，还是会有限制
。另外 high-demand thinking 太多可能会导致其它的问题，常见的是肠胃或过敏阈值。
每个 individual human 的 trait 不一样。所以适合是真理，快乐学习不苦鼻是王道
。Gifted 还是 High-achiever 就别纠结了。 |

貌似原来没有多突出，但是人家最后证出来了。就算佩雷尔曼，也不见得是最聪明的。
智商上来说，小陶估计完胜张益唐，但是孪生素数是张证出来了。当然小陶本身也是
HIGH ACHIEVER，对得起自己的GIFT。

关键是所谓的Gifted和High Achiever没有明确的界限。极端的情形自然好区分，但在
中间带，没有threshold来决定是不是真正Gifted。
一些说是Gifted的，你给他再加难点，进度再快点，他也会吃不消；一些说不是Gifted
的，你降点难度但是还是超出常规的课堂教学，他又学很快 get bored了。

我跟我LD一个学校读书，资历背景年龄都差不多，我很快学会的
东西，他要捉摸很久。打牌下棋都不如我。可是最后还是他更有成就。
就因为他更努力。
找工作的时候，我要一个一个简历的投，他简历都没投过一份，那时候也
没有linkedin, 没贴过monster, 却有领头公司的
人事部门管挖星的HR写信邀请他去面试。
所以我也觉得gifted不是决定性的，只能提供一个便利。关键
是努力。努力了能当high achiever, 不够努力的只能打酱油。
当然gifted好处还是有点的。眼光准。我是第一个发现我LD很有潜力的人。
在默默无闻的时候，连他自己都没有意识到他的潜力。我就知道他
一定会acheive high。
我现在教孩子也是经常鼓励她努力。父母就像两面镜子，告诉她
努力，聪明和high acheiver之间的关系，
不过今天早上我伤了她的心。她很兴致勃勃得说奥巴马怎么怎么，
我听到这个名字就气，跟她说奥巴马是个混蛋，他昨天刚说学校
要按照肤色录取，我们华人在美国需要付出比黑人多好几倍的努力。

发帖数: 201 | 50 美国的教学本来就太松弛，老师也不用力， 班上再有几个脑子慢的，几个调皮生事的
， 孩子能学的有用东西太少了，开发智力更指不上，甚至运气不好还会影响到孩子的
behavior或学bad words。
GT班老师是certified，和学生都是挑来的，家长也相对会更重视学业，孩子至少不排
斥学习，再说亚裔比例也高些了，从哪方面都是好事。孩子教的朋友也是好孩子。
至于是不是gifted， high achievers，who cares。就像成是好班 ：）让孩子到最好
的环境，最好的资源，如果班里孩子们更聪明，经常闪了火花，咱们孩子也跟着学了不
是？还是都争取进吧。 |
