通常我们所说的魔戒之王(The Lord of the Rings,奇幻爱好者
一般简称为LotR、LOR或LR)其实是一套三部曲(Trilogy):旅伴(The
Fellowship of the Rings)、双塔(The Two Towers)和国王回归(The
Return of the King)。它的作者即是奇幻文学界堪称泰山北斗的约
翰·罗纳德·瑞尔·托肯恩(John Ronald Reuel
Tolkien,简称J.R.R.Tolkien或JRRT)。
托肯恩(1892.1.3-1973.9.2)出生于南非的布洛丰坦(Bloemfonta
in)。4岁时因为父亲去世而举家迁回英格兰，所以他的童年几乎全是
在英国度过的。他一帆风顺地从小学到中学，在1915年23岁时从牛津
大学毕业。前两天紫晶逛到某个老外的站点，就看见他声称他去了托
肯恩上过的爱德华国王学校(King Edward's School)旧址，言语中颇
