－－几个星期前他和他的兄弟Donny一起被我们shelter的另一个volunteer领养了。结
果，今天收到这个volunteer的email，说Charlie死了。。
“Dear all,
It is with a lot pain and sadness that I share with you that Charlie passed
away on Thursday night.
Charlie fell off my balcony on the 17th floor (I didn't see how it happened)
. The boys have been playing nice on the balcony so I never felt threatened
that something would happen with them. Tanzie, who is 3 y.o., loves to be on
the balcony enjoying the breeze and birds. Maybe it was bad judgment of my
part, maybe it was the wind, maybe it was destiny. I go over and over how
this could happen and I still could not find any comfort. I don't know. I
miss him so very much. I would do anything to bring him back, but I can't.
If I could, I would go back in time and have locked them in the apartment
and not allow them to go out, but I can't.
Charlie was a happy little tricky cat; immensely loved by us. My buddy to
watch movies, a lover for cuddling and watching my laptop screen while I am
working. The kindest and the most loving cat I ever seen. I close my eyes
and I still can feel him around.
Donny misses him. He meows often but still very playful and full of energy.
Tanzie started playing more with Donny, which is good. I took the day off on
Friday to be at home with the cats and try to digest what happened.
We will miss this sweetie pie. ”
我当时看了email很shock，因为Charlie是我非常喜欢的小猫，若不是家里已经有三个
了，现实情况又不允许，说不定早就把他们兄弟二人领回家了。于是回了email，表达
了一下难过的心情，最后说了一句“Anyways, I would never let my cats go to the
balcony, let alone who was still healing from the broken bones”－－Charlie
之前后腿不明骨折，医生说采取保守疗法让他自己恢复，他被领走的时候还一瘸一拐的
呢。
结果，到了下午，收到了这个volunteer的回信：
“It was an accident.
It is worth me nothing you telling me what you would have done by never
letting him on the balcony as he was healing his bones. Did you adopt him?
No. I did. I loved him so very much and I wanted to give them the freedom to
enjoy outside.
I think about him every single minute and I miss him as you cannot imagine.
If you really liked him, know that he was extremely happy and loved.”
以上就是去掉抬头和落款的全文了。。这个email是写给我一个人的，说实话让我反省
了很久，是不是说话太冲了。
然后晚上，收到我们shelter director给大家的信，就一句话：
“I'm speechless. And devastated.”
唉，逝者已逝，这是Charlie的最后一张免冠照了 |

不觉得. 你没有错. 这个人很显然就是推卸责任, 但是最恶心的推卸责任以后还冠冕堂
皇的来说一大堆worthless crap. Some people just can't stand it when other
people point out their obvious mistakes. This person should NOT be allowed
to adopt any more animals EVER. What a complete ass.

criticism well.
Perhaps reminding her that something needs to be done with her balcony if
she doesn't want to see any such accidents again would be more acceptable. |

lz mm, you did nothing wrong, you are just been so young or being so lucky
that you don't see that people are different and accidents do happen. 本来人
的能力就各有不同，我们judge一个人有没有尽力是不能横向比较的，只能和他自己的
经历比较。也许对于他来说，已经尽了他能想到的最大努力去给charlie一个有爱的家
。悲剧发生后，他自己的悲伤、懊悔肯定不亚于你们。这时候指责他是有点太残忍了。 |

“Hello Z.... I got a call for L this morning that broke my heart and soul
and still has me crying.... I heard about Charlie. I am not sure if you know
that Charlie and Donny were my fosters and that I was in love with them....
Charlie was my favorite.
......
The reason I am contacting you is because L told me about all the emails to
and from Charlie's adoptive mom. I did not read any of these conversations
and I do NOT want to. I just want to say to YOU, before I close this subject
.... Bravo! Bravo for telling her exactly what I feel and what probably most
of us feel. Bravo Z!

照片是原来住apartment时候的阳台。安装时注意底部要固定好。cocoa那时就从下面溜出去一次。

不过我总感觉猫是站在阳台栏杆上，然后不小心掉下去的－－我有个朋友曾经见到他的猫在阳台栏杆上走，就动手给阳台装了向内的倒刺。。
唉，现在越想越气，那个人，一味地说，是accident，destiny，好像并没有认真研究一下到底是什么原因出的事故。。
溜出去一次。

十七层高阳台没有一点防护是很说不过去。一只猫也许还行。多只猫在上面追逐打闹意

她说不是看我长得不像虐猫的， 就投诉我， 让我永远不能养宠物, blah blah....

不过一般人都是很虚伪的，比如要是我就不会这么说，然后有人说了就会安慰那个人说
她说了我想说的话，然后反过头再去安慰那个猫猫死去的adopter一些什么话，所以别
太计较但也别太把大家的话当真，客套话居多，下次态度还是要委婉点的好，尤其对美
国人，直来直去很吃亏的，指不定暗地里怎么想的。 - -！ |

前住7楼还是9楼，猫掉下去摔的重伤，后来死了。她说她很惊讶，从来都以为猫是不会
笨到掉下去的，掉下去也摔不死的，结果不是。她没说之前，我也是觉得猫很聪明很多

回得一点也不过份。非常讨厌这种自称有爱心但又不负责任的人，根本就不合适养动物

mom, and say something like
"Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feeling. I know you must love him very
much and are in deep sorrow. ...blah blah... I'm just thinking maybe
something could be done to avoid such a tragedy in the future (she still has
another cat, right? and she still lives on the 17th floor.), such as adding
protection fence on your balcony, if possible (show her the pic), or not
letting them stay in the balcony."
