http://www.excaliburfruittrees.com/instructions.html
Planting Instructions
Dig hole exactly the size of the container.
Do not add anything to the planting hole, e.g. potting soil, fertilizer,
manure. The fertilizer and manure can burn the new roots and damage the
tree.
Place tree without the container in the hole, with the base of the trunk
1-2" above the ground for a 3-7gal and 3-4" for 15gal+. The potting soil
that the tree came in will break down and the tree will sink below the soil
line if it is planted level with the ground.
Mound dirt around the tree with the soil dug out being careful to keep
the crown of the trunk exposed because soil touching the trunk may cause
fungal problems.
After planting it is okay to lightly fertilize the tree, then continue
to fertilize monthly as per the fertilization instructions below.
Water every day for the first month.
Sprinklers alone will not be enough, as they are meant for grass and
water only 1-2" deep.
A thorough soaking every other day with sprinklers should be sufficient
if on the days the sprinklers do not come on, you water the tree by hand.
After the first month, water well about twice a week and sprinklers
should be sufficient if they come on three times a week.
If the tree looks dry, sprinklers are not enough, additional watering is
needed.
We recommend you fertilize every month with our specially blended 8-3-9
with micronutrients that is available in 50lb bags at the nursery for $20.
Monthly fertilizing provides a constant nutrient supply to the trees which
promote better growth.
*If you do not intend to plant your tree in the ground immediately,
please make sure to water it daily.*
Accelerated Growth Plan
Fertilize monthly with any good palm food or our specially blended 8-3-9
fertilizer with minor elements package. Use 1/2 lb. per 1" of trunk caliper
, around the drip line.
Foliar spray with a 20-20-20 every 3-4 months if needed.
Optional
(If you have any issues)
Calcium Nitrate; Nutricote 17-17-17 six month time release; Triple Super
Phosphate; Milorganite; Sulfur
To wake your trees out of dormancy. In March: Calcium Nitrate & Triple
Super Phosphate 1/2 pound per 1 inch trunk. Spread 3' radius.
If you are only in Florida for the winter and will be away for a few
months. In April: Nutricote six month - 1 pound per 1" trunk. Spread 3'
radius.
If your Citrus fruits are dry on the inside. In October: 1 pound
