2. Still not sure. Note common dandelions have smooth leaves with pointed
edges pointing to the center of the plant, like those in 3.
BTW, which state and USDA zone are you in? |

Extension office:

You should be able to bring the weed to them for identification and ask them
for control advice, as that's part of their job. Certainly call beforehand
though.

发帖数: 837 | 35 First, congratulate yourself that you have Bermuda as the good grass, not as
a weed.
Second, I suggest you practice whatever is described here:

Finally, killing Coarse Tall Fescue isn't easy, since it is a grass, not a
broadleaf.
1. Hand pulling, if it is feasible.
2. Touch paint with glyphosate (i.e. Roundup), if you have the patience. A
variation is to wrap a mop cloth around a stick or the end of a rake, spray
ample glyphosate on the cloth, and 'mop' the Tall Fescue without touching
the Bermuda grass with the assumption that Tall Fescue is taller than
Bermuda grass.
3. (Bermuda only) Spot spray glyphosate when the Bermuda grass is in the
deep dormant state. It is safe to spray if you are certain Bermuda is
really dormant, of which I am not sure how to check. You may search the web
or do some experiment now in a small patch in the corner and see how things
go later. Since Bermuda grass is so vigorous, it really doesn't hurt much
if you kill that small patch. If you can get the timing right, you'll have
a potent weapon to treat almost any winter weeds.
4. (Warm season grass only, including Bermuda) Keep mowing low, since Tall
Fescue likes to be mowed high while warm season grass likes to be mowed low.
It is possible after some months, the Tall Fescue will just die because of
the low mowing height. If you are not in a hurry to kill the Tall Fescue
right now, this might be the best approach.
5. Selective herbicides: Do some research on Corsair and Certainty,
especially Corsair, which would control Tall Fescue but won't harm Bermuda
grass (and a few other good grass). Those are advanced (and expensive)
specialty herbicides you won't find in the big box stores. If you want to
go this route, be very careful with the applications and strictly follow the
labels.
