Each day the sting is felt
Across my heart lies its cruel welt
It is difficult to understand
Why one would be dealt this hand
The sting is like the scorpion's tail
Causing my heart to wail
I have so much to give
But with this constant sting to live
I feel it most days

The shuddering it brings

Before its strike to quail

Shadows tall and dense
