READING THE MARKET
It’s another week of constructive action for the market. The first two trading day of the week has seen institutional buying as the volume exceeded prior days
for two sessions, this is a sign of big boy getting back to the market, and
also the indexes were able closed in the high of trading session which stays
above the 200 and 50 day moving average line. And on Friday even though the
market drop more 100 points in the first half of the trading, as the market
fear in the EU zone, however the market were able regain most of its loss and it retreats in low volume
over the market is healthy.
SPECIAL NOTE – During earnings season many traders will hold only a small
portion of their positions into an announcement (if they are acting well),
or none at all, to reduce the great volatility risk associated with those
announcements.
LEADER LIST (LONG SIDE)
The leader list continues to hold names shaping bases that should/could be
watched and/or traded. In fact, the list is nearly identical to the prior
week. Remember, in choppy markets many can change categories quickly as they
approach or trade around certain key areas.
Base Builders/Pullbacks
Stocks that are either building constructive bases or have pulled back in
their price action to a key area (the 21-day or 50-day line), usually in
tepid volume
1) AAPL – close to 52 week high low volume pullback, watch for breakout
caution (late stage base)
2) BIDU – still above 50-day line need more time to build the base p/v
action still weak
3) ULTA – choppy action as the stock regain 50-day line with some volume
4) NKE – bounce from 21-day area
5) FFIV – found support under 50-day line – and closes at 50-day line
9) SCSS – holding above all key lines – good p/v action
10) ASML – pull back to key moving averages with big volume
11) FTI – hanging tight above all key lines slightly below 10-day line
12) DPZ – barley hanging on to its 50-day line – watch for pocket pivot
13) PNRA – power push off 10-day line to new highs for this leader
14) BIIB – the stock about to break new high watch volume closely- decent p
/v action (pocket pivot)
15) ULTA – close above 50-day with volume
16) GNC- close above 50-day wait for volume to push the stock higher
Recent Breakouts/Bounces Off Support
Stocks that recently broke out of bases, boxes, or consolidations or have
bounced off prior support areas and are continuing higher in price
1) NUAN– broke out and hit new high with volume signature (Leader)
2) SPPI – breakout from a 3 week tight base formation
3) INVN – broke out and hit new high watch for low volume retreat to
reenter
4) ALXN– new high then pull back to 10-day line and try to find support
5) VPHM – new high after found support at 21-day line
6) CELG – new high with huge volume

9) CMG – broke out of base on base
10) URI – at 10-day line but decent p/v action close to new high
11) V– tries to regain 10-day line , p/v is weak
12) TSCO – broke out in monster volume now
13) SBH – sits slightly under 50-day line for now looking for support
