Caterpillar Inc. (Sym: CAT) which has a large operation in neighboring China
, will be very busy supplying as much equipment they can possibly get out
the door to the island nation.
Since the disaster and sharp sell-off in the market, the price action has
hardly been affected and is holding its 50-day moving average solidly. CAT
could very easily break its all-time high of just under $106 per share once
the nuclear fear is tempered and the broad markets rebound.
Thermal Coal prices will most likely continue to rise as the market tightens
up due to increased demand.
Another type of Coal used primarily in the production of steel -- called
metallurgical coal, or coking coal -- will be in high demand as well. As
Japan begins rebuilding, the demand for steel should boost prices.
Speaking of steel, they are going to need an abundance of this heavy
construction material.
