Below are the key earnings reports from after the close yesterday and before
the open today that will help shape today's trading action. Learn them,
know them, trade them:
Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) reports Q2 EPS of $0.46, below the analyst
estimate of $0.55. Revenue for the quarter rose 41 percent to $6.57 billion,
which compared to the estimate of $6.54 billion. In addition, Amazon said
it sees Q3 sales of $6.9-$7.625 billion, versus the consensus of $7.15
billion. Operating income is expected to be between $210 million and $310
million, or between 16% decline and 24% growth. Shares are down 11 percent.
Ford (NYSE: F) reports Q2 EPS of $0.68, 28 cents better than the analyst
estimate of $0.40. Revenue for the quarter was $31.3 billion, which compares
to the estimate of $29.79 billion. The company sees higher financial
results in FY11 versus FY10. Shares are up 5 percent.
Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) reports Q4 EPS of $0.51, 5 cents better than
the analyst estimate of $0.46. Revenue for the quarter was $16.04 billion,
which compares to the estimate of $15.27 billion. Sees FY10 opex of $26.9-$
27.3B. Shares up 0.7 percent.
McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) reports Q2 EPS of $1.13, 1 cent better than the
analyst estimate of $1.12. Revenue for the quarter was $5.946 billion, which
compares to the estimate of $5.91 billion. Comps up 4.8%. Share are down 1.
5 percent.
Verizon (NYSE: VZ) reports Q2 EPS of $0.58, ex-items, 2 cents better than
the analyst estimate of $0.56. Revenue for the quarter was $26.8 billion,
which compares to the estimate of $27.10 billion. Wireless adds of 1.4
million. Shares are up 3.8 percent.
Honeywell (NYSE: HON) reports Q2 EPS of $0.60, 3 cents better than the
analyst estimate of $0.57. Revenue for the quarter was $8.16 billion, which
compares to the estimate of $8.00 billion. Raises its FY10 EPS guidance from
$2.30-$2.45 to $2.40-$2.50, versus the consensus of $2.48. Sees sales
guidance rising from $31.5-$32.3 billion to $32.4-$32.9 billion, which
compares to the Street estimate of $32.2 billion. Shares are up 1.2 percent.
Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB) reports Q2 EPS of $0.68, even with the analyst
estimate of $0.68. Revenue for the quarter was $5.94 billion, which compares
to the estimate of $5.91 billion. Shares are down 3.4 percent.
American Express (NYSE: AXP) reports Q2 EPS of $0.84, 7 cents better than
the analyst estimate of $0.77. Shares are down 0.6 percent.
SanDisk (Nasdaq: SNDK) reports Q2 adjusted EPS of $1.08, 18 cents better
than the analyst estimate of $0.90. Revenue for the quarter was $1.18
billion, which compares to the estimate of $1.16 billion. SanDisk sees Q3
sales of $1.175-$1.25 billion, which compares to the Street estimate of $1.
25 billion. Raises its FY10 sales guidance from $4.5-$4.8 billion to $4.7-$4

million, which compares to the estimate of $452.84 million. Shares up 4
percent.
E*TRADE (Nasdaq: ETFC) reports Q2 EPS of $0.12, 23 cents better than the
analyst estimate of ($0.11). Revenue for the quarter was $534 million.
Shares are up 8.6 percent.
Capital One (NYSE: COF) reports Q2 operating EPS of $1.78, versus the
analyst estimate of $0.86 and $1.40 reported for the same period last year.
Revenue for the quarter was $3.9 billion, which compares to the estimate of
