This report is a mid-day check of some of the more notable stocks that have
hit a 52-week high or low so far today.
52-Week High:
Samson Oil & Gas Limited (NYSE: SSN) high of $1.27. Could be breaking out
above $1.13 today, as the stock looked to be forming an ascending triangle
pattern over the last month. Volume today is also above average. A new
psychological support level may be at $1.20 today.
LAN Airlines S.A. (NYSE: LFL) high of $21.60. Shares gaining throughout the
day today as the company announced that they purchased 50 modern Airbus A320
aircraft to be delivered between 2012 and 2016.
Linn Energy, LLC (Nasdaq: LINE) high of $29.07. Investors may be liking the
recent $95 million acquisition of East Texas oil and natural gas assets
announced yesterday. Shares also recently hit a 52-week high of $28.97 on
July 14.
52-Week Low:
Vantage Drilling Company (AMEX: VTG) low of $0.99. Announced a $50 million
common stock offering. Prtichard Capital also downgraded the stock from Buy
to Sell, cutting their price target from $2.05 to $0.75.
AspenBio Pharma Inc. (Nasdaq: APPY) low of $0.65. Reported results today
from the Company's recently completed AppyScore ELISA-based pivotal clinical
trial. The study was designed to evaluate the utility of the AppyScore
blood-based test in aiding in the evaluation of patients suspected of having
acute appendicitis. The Statistical Analysis Report showed higher
sensitivity (96%) and negative predictive value (92%) but lower specificity
(16%) than seen in the 2008
ELISA-based study. Also, the report showed a wider range in prevalence of
acute appendicitis between sites than had been anticipated. Click here for

ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq: MANT) low of $36.98. Downgraded
by Wells Fargo and BB&T following the company's COO resignation. Wells
downgraded from Outperfomr to Market Perform, and BB&T downgraded from Buy
to Hold.
Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS) low of $11.89. Shares lower as Amazon.com (
Nasdaq: AMZN) reported, yesterday, that sales of their eBooks are outpacing
sales of
hardcovers. |
