think I have been eating a lot lately, but I almost never feel hungry
between meals. I don't even feel hungry when I get up in the morning. And if
I eat two cookies for breakfast, I will feel bloated the entire morning. I
don't even crave for chocolate cake after gym. Yet still my tummy is
building fat. This is depressing.
What should today's special practice word be? Oh I remember our lawyering
professor used a long word today. She is against using long words in writing
. The special pet peeve of hers is "subsequently." According to her, you
should never use subsequently; next or later would do. On the same token,
you should never use "on the grounds that"; just use because. Yet this
morning she asked us to interview each other and used the word "matriculate.
" Why couldn't she just ask "what have you leared since you started law
school?
It is a little sad that the lawyering class is over. Believe me I am not
crazy about spending time on a course that does not give grades, but I just
love the professor so much. Sometimes she shows some "tiger mom" qualities.
Once she took back a gift to her daughter for some reason I don't remember,
which was a $25 ituens gift card, and brought the gift card to class to use
as a prize for quiz.
I am probably going to apply to be her TA next year. I heard that it would
take a lot of time, and you only get 2 credits for the whole year. I didn't
even assume they would pay you since there would be course credits. But
today I hear that you do get paid a little--equivalent to your tuition for
those 2 credits. |
