I have to say that I was/am terribly disappointed with the opening
ceremonies. I understand that GB is a nation of understatement but there was
nothing memorable about it. AND there was no continuity. If there hadn't
good old Matt and Meredith to explain it all I would have been lost atop
that tor (sp) we saw at the beginning. Sorry Brits but you didn't get it
done but on the other hand I don't think any nation could have had a decent
opening after Bejing.

Some of the fireworks and the singing was fake, but the amazing artistic
designs and human coordination was not. Doesn't matter if you like the
country or not, China presented an unparalleled ceremony that spoke of its

No disrespect...but I wanted London to kick butt with a nice opening
ceremony..just to knock China down...but I'm very disappointed. It had too
much going on...it didn't flow...no elegance I don't know what the hell they
were thinking about...queen parachuting, health care, civil war,
industrialization, technology, CRAZY #$%$ the guy smoked some heavy #$%$
when he came up with these ideas. Sorry can't give it to you London...China
