The bioinformatic aspect of systems biology has been doing better as far as
finding a job is concerned. Computer simulation of cellular networks and
behaviors are still largely living in the ivory of academia. There are start
-up companies such as Entelos, but I doubt it is a near-term successful
investment. Sometimes the potential of systems biology has been exaggerated
so much, which build up people's expectation, just like what the microarry/
bioinformatic stuff has done years ago.

cases, it's just about glorified high throughput projects. In that sense, I
would say the job market is actually pretty good. |
