The clock is ticking on a gay marriage vote in New Jersey, and Thursday is
the last day the state senate could consider the bill and still get it over

TRENTON — Clergy from 19 different faith groups around the state are asking
Senate President Richard Codey (D-Essex) and Assembly Speaker Joseph
Roberts (D-Camden) to vote on same-sex marriage legislation before the
current legislative session ends.

With time running out for the New Jersey state senate to vote on marriage
equality, NBC New York is reporting there will be a vote on the issue in the
lame-duck session of that body on Thursday.
"We're gonna post the bill and see what happens," senate president Dick

If the New Jersey legislature were to approve the pending same-sex marriage
bill, it would bring the state's economy an additional $200 million in
revenue over the next three years, according to a public policy organization.
