26 October 2009 - The US Food and Drug Administration said on 23 October it
has issued an emergency use
authorization (EUA) for the investigational antiviral drug peramivir
intravenous (IV) in certain adult and
pediatric patients with confirmed or suspected 2009 H1N1 influenza infection.
The FDA said that the decision to issue an EUA was made in response to a
request from the US Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
