then once you get the hang of it, you can progress onto 20-30 shorts. then
feature-length.
it would be so great if we could come up with a script in this club, and get

this BBS, sent me a URL to a DV (in RM format) he made together
with his friends. I thought that was pretty cool, he actually
went ahead and did something real instead of us just bluffing
around ;-)

have watched All About Lily Chou Chou, you will understand
how amazingly beautiful a DV shot can be. Crystal clear. But
I guess that director must be using the highest-end DV he
can afford, not the cheapo SONY sold on the street ;-)

i guess i'm more into cinematography than directing at this point.

DV will produce about 600 lines, 8mm can have 1135 lines, almost
double. and the contrast is not in the same league either.

Some classic documentaries are Scorsese's "Last Waltz", U2's "Rattle & Hum"
(watched it over 30 times).
Almost Famous is too fine a drama rather than just a band movie. You know what
scene I loved most ? The one when the kid is drawing his favorite band's name
and logo in the class. That's exactly what I did back in the early days of
college! I think Chinese "rockers" and rock n' roll

you can't compare american music w ours, what an easy life they had
and what a shitty life we had. like how blacks made blues, it was born

DV分辨率一般没有胶片高啊。

Rattle & Hum比较好?
一说这些眼睛又亮了, 电影要音乐动人心, 最好是documentary, 或
者情节不明不白画面抽象的, 好象那个PI, 还有Lost Highway, 都有
令人印象深刻的soundtrack. Almost famous和那个北京摇滚的电影
故事情节太多了, 反而觉得有点儿牵强, 当然, 好多人还喜欢闭着眼
睛听音乐呢.
我看过最完美的band movie, 之一是Radiohead的meetin people is
EASY.. Radiohead成员其实形象不错, 不过不喜欢在唱片上放照片,
这部documentary是在欧陆和日本的一些演出, 还有幕后镜头!!!
之二是Talking Heads的Stop Making Sense, 几年前曾经在电影院里
重映, 据说第一次放映时制片人对电影院音响效果要求太高, 结果卖
不太出去. 这次看到, 真的是有现场演唱会激动人心的效果, 而且talking
heads舞台风范极好, 热情而决不哗众取宠, 电影结束
