I'm posting this where it will get the most exposure to people looking
specifically for laptops. I'm also posting this because my friend Gideon
just had his laptop stolen right in front of him this morning.
If you don't want, or can't afford to pay for services like LoJack Laptop,
this is your next best option.
When/If the thief connects the laptop to the internet, it transmits its
location to the Adeona server. Using an authorization file (which you
should email to yourself on something like Yahoo! or Gmail so you always
have it) you can get the location from UW's server, and give that
information to the authorities.
