I saw this deal in Fry's weekly ad in SF Bay Area BM stores. $40 for the
NetTalk DUO which seems like a great deal. $30 each additional year and on
their website it says free number porting for a short time.
I don't know how the quality compare to MJ Plus but I was able to MJ Plus
for $40 since I was a previous customer as a special deal from MJ. It's
nice not to leave a computer and still have phone service. Call quality has
been great and I been able to fax with my Brother MFC.
I researched both MJ Plus and NetTalk DUO. They both seem good and only
chose MJ Plus because of the great price I got. The price here at Fry's for
$40 is great vs the MJ Plus which sells for $70. It's almost half off!.
Now I know some of you may crap on this deal and say that the OBI adapter
gives you free service with Google Voice. However I really like that these
offer 911 services which the OBI doesn't offer. This feature is really
important to me and for my parents house.
Some of you may have grandfathered OOMA where you pay no fees but it's not
available anymore. Also I like paying per one year at a time because if the
company goes under I only lose the remainder of the year.
Also with Fry's you can try this out and return if the quality sucks.
