Today I was on my library's website (Cincinnati, OH suburb) and was looking
around at their databases. One of the options available was Consumer Reports
. I clicked on the link and it redirected me to an Ohio Library site that
asked me for my library card number. After entering my number, it took me
directly to the Consumer Reports website and had me logged in as a "Library
User Account". I have access to all categories and everything the normal
site offers. I'm not sure which other states offer this, but it's worth
checking into for those of you who like Consumer Reports! YMMV per state you
live in, I know this works for Ohio though.
Here is how I found it:
www.lanepl.org:
http://www.lanepl.org
-click on databases on the left hand side
-select "C" under alphabetical selections
-you will see consumer reports listed, click the link
-a new window should open asking you to input your OHIO library card number
(other states YMMW, check your local library website or give them a call).
-enter your library number, then click submit.
Badda bing and you're in! I hope this works for others it is a great service
. Support your local library as well!
This is one of my first posts so please be kind! I did a search did not find
this anywhere. I'm sure a lot of people would like to use it, and you avoid
the $26 annual fee!
Cheers,
mtthw
