Target (me included) looking for clearance TVs, this is another option that
can yield very good deals. Mostly from the comfort of your computer.
You can use the Sears Outlet:
http://www.searsoutlet.com/
website to see what inventory is available at the Sears (outlet and retail
) stores around you for their clearance electronics. The stores mark down
at different times (depending how long they have been on the floor), so
neighboring stores can have different prices (and won't price match). But
you can catch some really good deals on open box (display model) TVs. Some
may have cosmetic damage or having missing parts/remotes (which they
sometimes note on the website). It is best to visit the store to see what
the item looks like (or, heaven forbid, call the store).
As an example, I just picked up an open-box Samsung UN55C8000 (with all
parts [including 2 (?) remotes] and no damage) for $874.93.
Note that the online website may not be 100% accurate (another reason to
verify in-store).
