Google Investing Index (GII) which tracks an amalgam of keywords related to
investing such as “stock, finance, stocks” and so on. The peak of searches
for these keywords was late last year on October 10th 2008 when there was
an 86% increase in year over year activity:
The opposite happened just recently in mid October 2009 when there was a
