you can't easily find a worse engine nowadays...
for example, the "new" Mustang V6 is significantly lighter than the new
Camaro V6
& almost 100 hp less powerful
so it's reasonable to predict the Mustang would be more fuel efficient
however, according to EPA, the Mustang V6 AT's ratings are 16/24 mpg
while the Camaro V6 AT is rated at 18/29
not to mention power & torque
4.0L vs 3.6L, 210 hp vs 304 hp,

90? which model? I thought it was first used in late 90s
it may have some relationship with previous OHV V6s
but the change from OHV to SOHC should be significant enough to be
considered the 4.0L as a new engine.

to reduce unless you really improve the fuel efficiency of your engines
so you have to increase the specific output and thermal efficiency of your
engines
so Germans are pretty eager to use techs such as forced induction, high-rev
concept, down-sizing, direct injection, and so on
here in US, you don't have such a pressure at all
