(1) Pres. Hu Jintao of China reputedly promised Taiwan participation in
World Health Organization (WHO). Then Japanese media reported Mr. Wang Yi of
Taiwan Affairs Office as saying no. China did not explain except an
equivocal statement by a spokeswoman that Japanese reports were "not
accurate."
