I think he is.
Not the outcome I want to see, but I think he's got enough money and
some very smart political advisors(karl rove) to advise him.
And the Iraq issue, well, it is still 1 year away from the next election
anyway, so we will have to wait and see if the thing is going to blow up
right in front of his face.

FYI, there was a poll on Time Magazin not long ago. Bush's status was as low
as when he was first elected. That was even before so many americans died in
Iraq this summer.
I would rather think Bush will have a difficult battle to fight to win back
his presidency. With half of the population who did not vote for him last time
and all the problems with the country and administration, (those that have
gotten worse during his administration and he is unable to deal with till now
and those he created

I don't think hillary is a good candidate for the presidency. I dont even
think she can do a good job in the president's seat.
People would think Bill would have influence over every important decisions
she makes, regardless of whether it is true or not.
And I dont think Americans like puppet president..

I know there are people who enjoy being the media watchdogs. :) I don't blame
them for that. (It didn't mean for you of course!)
I have yet seen one piece of columns applauding president Bush personally in
his dealing in Iraq war on NY times. I kinda understood the position of the
media, they want to make it into one big carnivole show that everyone can
have fun looking at the fighting freaks. Besides, what would you think if
your country's newspaper/television starts predicting your son

Well, if you think about it, Mr. Clinton won the election with the slogan
"buy one get one free". 8-)
If you ask me, it wouldn't be entirely bad a thing with Mr. Clinton
sitting next to President Clinton - *then* he can screw around however
he likes and tell lies about it however he likes. LOL.

Well they are going to think about it again when they see Bush's
new 87 bln Iraq bill on top of a half trillion deficit. And then
it gets to the point of cancelling the tax cuts...
Actually, (God forbid it)should there be another 911 before
the next election, *that* would give Bush a home run.

Average Americans don't really care if the budge deficit
is 500 billion or 500 trillion. They only care about their own
pockets (and there is nothing wrong about it!).
Appealing the taxcuts sound REALLY bad IMO, I don't think anyone
had won the presidency by threatening to raise taxes in their
campaigns.

Dean, the former Vermont governor? Don't know whether he can win the game
with his innovative weapons. Anyway, there's a whole year to go, a lot of
things can happen. The unlucky Carter met the Iran hostage issue nearly at
the end of his third year, which probably played a key role for his loss
of presidency. Bush need to be very careful in the coming year..

Hehe, You don't care about media probably because you haven't realized what
media have done in the country's politics.
If CBS or CNN, or NYtimes would run a week's reports on how terrible and
dangerous the war has been to the American soliders in Iraq, things might have
already turned upside down. But until now the media just don't tell anything
except those they have to say or even present it as sort of enjoyable. that is
too much a favor to the government. If you compare the media reports on t

I think you are right. look at NYtimes. it has lasted a century, built up a
reputation upon facts, not really upon opinions. But with a pro-war audience
right now, CNN's objectivity has been unpopular. This is a different time,---
even different from the Gulf war because of 9/11. the audience may favor the
news in the Fox way and are no longer interested in the truth. all of a sudden
this summer, I've come across a lot of stuff about Fox at different places,
like a very long New yorker article ab

time,---
sudden
Is this a different time from before? Maybe, but wouldn't any audience always
favor the news *they want to hear*? then, is that equivalent to "be no longer
interested in the truth"? Most of us don't want to hear the news (or
anything, for that matter) that we don't like, but most of us do want to know
the truth (sooner or later).

I always have a hard time believing the government in this country has that
kind of control over the media, and thus the audience. The Pentagon ca
