the administration realize that something is going wrong and changes are
needed.
ZJU is ranked No. 3 for the last 4 years, but I truly believe quite a few
other schools offer a better education or opportunity for the students, such
as FuDan and Shanghai jiaoda. On the flip side, a good ranking does attract
very smart people to ZJU. I have met a lot of excellent young people at ZJU

I believe in both Sciences and Engineering, one can see quite significant
change...say the invited speakers, visiting professors, ...
Sure, I believe it still requires a lot more effort
but I don't think the administration is lack of sense to see the real situation
they should have already known everything that we have observed

way until you mention Jiaoda, which makes all your points vain and suspicious
for me.
All in all, as my personal strong prejudice, Shanghai Jiaoda sucks a lot! It
should not be even listed into the top 10.

from ZJU in the 1999? As far as I know, there are a few from Shanghai JiaoDa.
I am saying that the placement of JiaoDa graduates are more diverse, into US
multinational, investment banks, engineering firms and consulting firms. (I am
NOT arguing that JiaoDa offers a better engineering education.)
In 1999, which was the year I graduated, the most popular firms were HuaWei,
ZhongXin, P&G and etc. A lot of top students went

ZJU is a Science-Engineering School.
Well, it is a fact.
However, every school has its own style. I don't see anything wrong with it
Just like you don't expect good business training from CalTech/MIT/Princeton,..
while engineering from Yale... or PKU/FDU in China sucks
If the students want to get real training in business, they have plenty of
other options. At the first step, they don't have to apply ZJU at all.

这个和学校的位置很有关系.
别的不说,我敢说NYU毕业生在Wall st混的比Harvard的多,
我们CUNY的毕业生更加是多得不能再多了,无它,就在city里,尤其是CUNY,
公立大滥校,每年毕业几十万,怎么比阿,
level最重要,level不一样,学校的毕业生能力也不样,
不要这么丧气,慢慢来..

this guy put too much emphasis on business/commercial... position,
but zju focuses on engineering and quite recently science also.
So it's just like apple and orange... Can't compare bah...
Science is also beautiful, even more beautiful than money
and money related achievement in some guys' eyes.
Also I personally think shanghai jiaoda is a pretty decent
school, let's stop bashing it.
By the way, I don't look up to those consulting companies..
I believe finance is the biggest bubble

like Shanghai-ese, why it still bore you to write that much? Don't be too
serious. Ok, your english is not bad, and your tone is more like a business
studnent than us, then so what? And it sounds funny to give that McKinsey
example as your argument as that was totally misleading. Only among the
graduate bachelors in my same year, I have known somebody going to a better
posisition than McKinsey. 大不自多，海纳江河。
