of Oct 14th. This morning I resigned with my team lead and my manager per a
traditional two-week notice. At the end of this endless conversation:
Manager: OK. I will call hr, either terminated today or in two weeks.
Me, a little shocked: Is it my option?
Manager: No.
...
Well, I did not expect that and i am still waiting for their notice. I
thought a company like mine, with 15,000 employees, would play by the rule.
Even though I do not believe they would kick me off today, I still learned
by my heart that employer could do anything at will and leave you with no
choice.
I was too young, too naive. I did a little research about notice period
online, but still far from enough. This is a big world and one only works
for about 30 years. Interest talks, not courtesy. |

发帖数: 804 | 6 既然如此，你已经尽了义务。除非你公司认为你有过错，否则按照他们自己的规矩，应
该两周后terminate。如果你被通知今天terminate，应该向HR质询。虽然不一定违法，
但是公司这样做非常不professional。正常情况下，你的老板至少应该考虑你会不会因
此向其他同事，他的上级甚至客户抱怨。。。这个风险和两周的薪水比起来太得不偿失
了。

因为你的H1B已经approved了，不存在身份失效问题。
唯一的影响可能是那2周不pay你，但是也无所谓了。
所以，不管等会他们告诉你啥结果，move on吧。

凭借邮寄材料的收据去新公司上班了，所以不鸟你的旧东家，回家好好休息两个星期吧

新公司原来10.14报道，说可以给我提前到10.7号报到。然后跟原公司商量是把我的
paycheck发到下周五，10.12号。
其实公司肯定不想让人走的，今年走了两个人，其中一个是team lead，组里已经招了
半年人了，来了个老印，还在招。我先说一通自己不行，经理使劲把我表扬一番，说我
现在的这个Project是她跟大manager力推我才让我来做的。说如果不喜欢现在做的可以
给我换角色，换组，只要留在公司，什么都可以做，什么都可以谈。当然我觉得这都是
客套话，缺人是真的，并且提出辞职了以后还怎么混啊。
最后谈了半个时，经理就说：那我跟hr说，决定terminate today or in two weeks。
中午提的辞职，下午3点交接，下午4点exit interview，下午5点被赶出来了。
交换的话因为我之前好多做的三四个project都在release阶段，有一个刚fully
release，另两个也release得差不多了。也没啥谈的。我做的也不是critical的东西。
反正肯定是manager决定立刻赶走我的，但她说你visa gap的事可以跟hr和immigration
谈。
我平时几乎不会跟manager会面，我是跟team lead会面的。（manager管3,4个team
lead，1个team lead管7,8个人吧）
自己也是没有经验，提出辞职之后那感受，即使他不赶我走，我也没法呆下去了。
没绿卡的在美国没什么退路，h1b各种东西堵死人，大多数没事，动不动也恶心一下，
觉得凡事多考虑一下。我中午一听当时就有点蒙。现在觉得没事了。

辞职信，回去呆了一个月，等h1b搞定了，灰溜溜的走了。

h1b开始transfer了，再给notice。
走就走了，莫回头。

上也有10天的grace period。放宽心，好好休息一下去新公司上班。
