Firing someone for being poor at their job, or a bad manager, is nearly
impossible. Even if HR wanted to do it, the process will take months or
years, require regular documentation and followups (and often "training" for
all of you together)...and in the meantime the manager will find ways to
discredit the complaining employees whenever possible, in their defense.
If you really want to get rid of your boss, here's the fastest and most
sure-fire way to do it:
Contact several of the largest recruiters in the area or nationally who
specialize in finding recruits for your industry, and give them your boss's
name with a very high recommendation. Whenever a recruiter calls you or your
co-workers fishing for applicants, praise your boss's name to the skies and
recommend they contact them. Pretty soon, your boss will start receiving
phone calls with great-sounding jobs, and due to the animosity in her
current workplace she will almost certainly be lured away.
Sure, it may be ironic that she's going to get a pay raise despite being
a poor manager, but at least she'll be someone else's problem.
Problem solved.
