A Woman's Worth - by Marianne Williamson
feel like that I owe Marianne, the author, and all my female friends this
review.
Marianne William is one of the most renowned and influential spiritual
leaders in the world. She lives in LA and lectures in downtown LA every
Monday night. I have not been there yet, but heard that "it is a treat".
I mentioned this book while ago here and cannot stop smiling at some
feedback. Because that was exactly what I thought when I was given a reading
list on which is this book a couple of years ago. I thought it was such a
cliche......of course I know my worth as a woman. Why do I need you to tell
me of that?
I guess I wasn't just ready for it at the time yet. When it comes, I went
all over the world looking for it. oh well, I just drove to our neighboring
town library......LOL
Why don't I introduce this book by her own earnest words?
"When I told girlfriends I was writing a book about women, most of them said
something like this:'For us, for women who have been to hell and back?'
How strange that this should be the club we belong to: women who have been
to hell and back. But we all understand what that means. It's a membership
badge we were with knowing looks an lines on our foreheads. Most of us have
known at least one divorce or one devastating breakup, whether we were
married or not. Other circumstances can get us into the club as well:
abortion, disease, a variety of public or private humiliations, drugs,
alcohol, the death of a loved one, incompetent parents, sick children. It's
everything we thought life would never be like. We don't feel self-pity so
much as fear and deep grief.
In writing this book, I have no purpose other than a creative spill of my
own guts. But in itself is a passionate purpose, and I have seen how like my
guts are to those of other women. The relationships, careers, children,
dreams, betrayals, hopes, wins, losses....Our feelings have blended. Our
stories converge."
alright, enough said. If you feel like this is the book for you, go read it
and enjoy it.
Be a woman, a beautiful woman from inside and out
Be a woman, strong and delicate
Be a queen, a glorious one, not just a princess
Break the walls you built yourself and spring free
Be loving, be tender, be compassionate, be courageous
Life is too short to be living in agony, hatred and misery
Live, love and laugh

东西方的文化差异还是挺大的,现在真的很难说自己是西方人还是东方人,
是男人还是女人,自己是有价值的人还是没有价值的人.
其实,没有价值,没有价值的女人,也蛮好的.
真的不再考虑价值的时候,也可以很快乐,很自在.
快乐是一种简单的平和,甚至简单到..傻不拉几的时候,也可以快乐而感人.

其实我倒是越来越觉得，东西方的文化在交融。我也对自己到底是东方人还是西方人越
来越无解，也越来越无所谓了。世界都大同了，还管那么多干嘛？说到底，我们轮回这
么多世，今世生在东方，前世在西方，都一样么，嘻嘻。
嗯，没事我们偷着乐就行，开心就好，管他傻乐还是不傻乐的。

从宏观的角度看,两者确实在交融,从微观的角度看,两者确实有着点点滴滴的差异.
我觉得自己其实都不懂.懂的太少了.
新年过完,生活回归正常.

嗯，新年总算过完了，我这里忙了两个多星期。星转月移，像是过了centuries。。。
昨天早上，坐在桌子前，喝着茶，听着音乐，看着从vacation mail堆里挑出来的杂志
，感觉总算是在放假了。

也很好啊。新的一年又来了，生活真是美好，是不是？今年会比往年更好的
