My PC was assigned an IP address automatively by DHCP. When things are right,
the IP address should be 160.***.***.***. However, quite frequently, the IP I
got is 192.***.***.*** and it is not working (I cannot go anywhere on internet
). At the same time, my wife's apple has no problem using the same network (
two outlet from one internet switch). Windows cannot detect any problem with
the connection. Does anybody have |

Are you using wireless or wired conncetion via a router?
Probably your laptop picked up a wirelss signal from some other place (which
is not working.) So disable your wireless first.

B*******e 发帖数: 3882 | 4 so ur network structure is: the switch connects to the internet port, and u
r connecting computers through the switch?
If this is correct, the problem may be: that internet port can only assign
one ip; so if you need to connect more than one computers at the same time, u
need a router instead of a switch.

even I connect my computer directly through the internet port without using a
switch.

y********o 发帖数: 291 | 6 You are right about my network structure but I don't think that is the reason
because the weird IP thing only happens once a week no matter how many
computers are linked to the switch. I tried linking my PC to the internet port
directly when the weird thing happens and it did not solve the problem.

going to conflict with others unless I never turn off my computer.
