I do not have much idea about this problem.
Here are some suggestions:
1. Make sure your HD is detected by BIOS correctly.
2. Try Partition Magic.
3. What's your HD's brand? Most HD manufacturers provide tools
for formatting the HD. I've used Quantum and Seagate tools.
I think you can find them on their web site.
4. Plug and Pray other Big Shrimp can help you.
5. Do not use softwares other than provided by the manufacturer

level format is actually a good way to make sure you have a
clean HD.
you'll need to get a utility from your HD manufactorer, I
know quantum,seagate,fujitsu and ibm all have such a
utility.
ps. most refer to this util as zero-fill which write zeroes
to the whole HD, it's not really low level format, cause
modern HD doesn't need it anymore. |
