西或者开咖啡店来盈利。在香港那种寸土寸金的地方都有书店，高级商厦里的书店附带
卖台湾设计师的首饰以及所谓手工制作的眼镜，一副三千港元。
我现在到一个地方必做的几件事之一就是逛书店。希望熏出点文化人的气息。

Edmund描绘时代背景更细致一些，戏剧感更强。例如TR在纽约警察局跟Parker的斗争，
还有他在海军部的谋划等。Edmund的篇幅也更大……

分析时间旅行故事的历史，深入，research做得到家，写作漂亮
Isaac Newton
科学巨人的传记。Gleick写过Richard Feynman的传，这部Newton传讲物理更多。第一
章和最后一张的文笔太好了，音韵节奏都控制得很不错，朗读起来特别有味道。
George C. Daughan
Revolution on the Hudson
美国革命史，Howe兄弟和General Clinton和华盛顿斗志斗勇，可以结合那本有名的《
1776》一起读。读完以后，还去造访了一下Fort Montgomery，结果就发现几个大石头
。英国人把这个Fort给拆了。
Nicholas Carr:
Glass Cage
The Big Switch
The Shallows
这三本基本上是一个主题的各种变奏：自动化对于人脑和人类社会的影响
分析比较好，写得不错，跟Malcolm Gladwell的路数比较接近，不过觉得没有James
Gleick那么深广，也算是很不错的分析了。

我说你没有偷工减料吧。你知道班上看书没人看得过你，你吹嘘几本我们也查不出来啊
。首先，上班不能看闲书吧，下完班总要有点接送孩子的事吧，总要做饭吃饭吧，这一
天下来总有点累吧，哪有那么多时间看书。我的这本 Truman 一千页，我看了这么长时
间了才看了三百多页。你快鞭策一下我们这些落后分子。

Edmund描绘时代背景更细致一些，戏剧感更强。例如TR在纽约警察局跟Parker的斗争，
还有他在海军部的谋划等。Edmund的篇幅也更大……

科学巨人的传记。Gleick写过Richard Feynman的传，这部Newton传讲物理更多。第一
章和最后一张的文笔太好了，音韵节奏都控制得很不错，朗读起来特别有味道。

Revolution on the Hudson
美国革命史，Howe兄弟和General Clinton和华盛顿斗志斗勇，可以结合那本有名的《
1776》一起读。读完以后，还去造访了一下Fort Montgomery，结果就发现几个大石头
。英国人把这个Fort给拆了。

这三本基本上是一个主题的各种变奏：自动化对于人脑和人类社会的影响
分析比较好，写得不错，跟Malcolm Gladwell的路数比较接近，不过觉得没有James
Gleick那么深广，也算是很不错的分析了。

我说你没有偷工减料吧。你知道班上看书没人看得过你，你吹嘘几本我们也查不出来啊
。首先，上班不能看闲书吧，下完班总要有点接送孩子的事吧，总要做饭吃饭吧，这一
天下来总有点累吧，哪有那么多时间看书。我的这本 Truman 一千页，我看了这么长时
间了才看了三百多页。你快鞭策一下我们这些落后分子。

为放在床头，几个晚上睡前读物扫了下：后篇不评价，前篇The present age --- 虽然
不是 Kierkegaard通常令我喜爱的风格（不可思议的啰嗦）---估计如果不是纸的床头
书，我不会看完。但既然匆匆拜别，掩不住牵挂应会再见。
