Yesterday, 07/04/2012, I got a Time Warner Cable bill from the mailbox. It
says the charge will increase from the old $29.99/m to $38.99/m, even after
some discount, for standard internet service from 07/06/2012 – 08/05/2012.
Today, my family called at least five times to Time Warner Cable, to 718-358
-0900, and 718-358-7928, for up around 140 minutes.
Time Warner Cable focused to sell higher-priced services on the phone, but
we just tried to get the current $29.99/m charge, or lower, or even
disconnection. They then mentioned prices of $34.99, $25.99, so and so. At
one point, a female customer representative told about the $19.99/m basic
internet service, and I expressed my interest in it. When I said whether I
could pay $19.99 for the next bill, she said that I had to pay the original
$38.99 and then get credit on the future bill. I was questioning on such
pay arrangement, and the customer service simply got impatient and put me on
phone transfer. Nobody would answer after long waiting, or when the phone
got through, the customer service kept saying they could not hear well, even
when my phone signal showed to be strong. Also, they were not able to
answer why I could not access some websites such as http://www.maoflag.net while I could access them from other network.
At the end, I asked to remove the service from Time Warner Cable, and today
should be my last day from my last payment. The customer representative said
Time Warner Cable will keep billing me until their earliest picking-time
for the modem on 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., July 14, even after I said I would
disconnect the modem and wait for their convenient time to pick it up. Time
Warner Cable billed a deposit for this modem when the service started. She
mentioned that I could go to a nearest Time Warner Cable store to return the
modem. When I asked her the location of a Time Warner Cable store, she said
that she could not pull up any location, and that she was just following
the standard procedure.
I am afraid that Time Warner Cable would just play whatever rules it sets up
. Sorry to say that I cannot afford such service from Time Warner Cable. |
